The Trading Mind on Money and Risk

Kardec Trader argues that traders' beliefs about money drive their risk-taking and performance. Many trade from scarcity or grandiosity, chasing losses to avoid pain or prove their worth. Your trading account is feedback about what you actually believe about money.

What's the trading mind look like on risk and money? How does the mind, your brain, what does it look like when your beliefs about money really begin to interact with the data and the risk that's going on in trading? It's really powerful. Most people don't recognize it. They want to keep money out of the conversation. Yet.
Your most deepest beliefs about your ability to manage uncertainty are rolled up in your beliefs about money, in the conversations you have about money. Most traders really have a scarcity mentality about trading. They, they're scared that things are going to be taken from them, so they trade not to lose. That's a money belief. Other traders believe they have to be doing something to make it happen.
That's an alpha position where they really come to a moment where they believe that they have to be making things happen. And what happens is they end up doing something like chasing trades. Other people believe that they have to be making money in order to be important. See how much I'm making. Look how important I am. So trading no longer becomes something that you perform. It's something that shows literally who you are. This is where it's dangerous. And you have to learn how to separate. You have to learn how to separate all this, because if you can't do that, you. You can't trade. Ultimately, what we're really talking about is the ability of being able to say, you know, my trading beliefs are really about money. And if I have scarcity thinking, if I have grandiose thinking, if I have to prove myself, those emotions are showing up as emotional beliefs in my performances. That's what you have to begin to grasp. And if you want to produce a trading mind, you have to be able to say, how do I know these are happening? Well, you know they're happening because you're looking at your trading account. Your trading account is going to point to you about your beliefs about trading and about money in particular. You know, is there scarcity? Do you have enough or do you have to make money to prove yourself? All these things, when you see the agitation, when you see yourself literally losing it, having a very rational mind at one moment, and on the other moment you begin to lose it and you can no longer, and you become this irrational creature. Trading. What you're seeing is your trading account is showing you to look at the beliefs behind the performance. And this is what we're doing here.
You have to really understand and know the self in order to be able to do this and maintain the self while trading. That's what has to happen. And it all boils down to money being rolled up into meaning. About your adequacy, about your mattering, about your worth, and about your sense of power. If you find yourself coming unglued when money is really at risk, what you're really doing is you're saying, oh my God, you know, in the clutch of it, you know, I can't really believe, I don't believe that I can engage, doubt and engage the unknown and prevail. If you feel like you're going to be a victim and go, my God, I'm going to lose. If I go in and I riff, I'm there. You're seeing all this stuff concentrated in the conversations and the beliefs you have about money. So when you read this article, I want you to see the spread that I show you about the different kinds of beliefs about money and performance in trading. It's powerful stuff. And then you might want to come to the webinar, same name, same thing, that explores it even deeper. Powerful stuff. And you begin to really see. You have to learn how to examine what has not been seen. You have to be able to observe what has been underneath the radar. That's what we're looking here. When you learn to do that, you have the power, the capacity to change that belief within the self. But until you observe it, you can't do it. Then you have to learn how to change belief.
That's what this whole structure is about. That's what ignite programming is about. How do you change beliefs? How do you produce the mind about beliefs about money that allow you to perform at a peak performance level while trading? That's the ticket, friends.
