Short YouTube commentary by Kardec Trader (uploaded January 11, 2026) introducing a "trading pyramid" analogy that ranks market-analysis tools by importance: top layers (essential) include auction market theory, market structure, price/volume/order flow, global macro/fundamentals, quantitative analysis, and risk/money management; middle layers note professional instruments (futures, options, CFDs); bottom layer lists classical technical indicators as optional. The speaker also warns that scams are common in forex and CFDs.

Yeah, the food pyramid is cool, but how about the trading pyramid, ladies and gentlemen? Here's the trading pyramid. Up here you have the things that you actually need. Down here you have the stuff that it's okay, you can use them, but you know, whatever. First, auction, market theory, price and volume and order flow, anything you need to analyze market structure. But for sure you need global macros and fundamentals as well. Futures and options are professional trading tools, so it's okay. Quantitative analysis is crucial for back testing and finding an actual edge and of course, risk and money management. At the bottom you have the classical technical stuff, the technical indicators and technical analys, which, you know, just like grains and pasta and bread. Do you really need them in your diet? Not really, but if you like them, just use them in moderation, they're not going to hurt. And if upstairs we had futures and option as a contract, here we have contracts for difference. I mean, are they really that bad? Not necessarily. They're still a trading tool. But you always have to beware of scams, because in forex and CFDs that's where they happen. Now feel free to take a screenshot and I'll see you in the next one.
