In this segment, the presenter explains a short‑selling approach that focuses on exploiting “front‑side” short opportunities created by price halts and subsequent resumptions. He describes how a price halt often produces a liquidity event—prices break previous highs, then reverse sharply. Rather than entering the trade immediately when many traders are eager, the strategy waits for the post‑halt move to clear out, then initiates a patient short entry. This timing aims to capture a more reliable reversal and avoid premature entries. The speaker illustrates the method with a recent trade that generated a roughly 20‑30% gain, highlighting the profit potential of the patient entry after the halt‑resume pattern.

This was a pattern that I traded earlier in the year and is more so of a front side short. The reason I took it is because you see how it halted up here and then failed. A lot of these will break the highs, create that liquidity event and they will eventually crash back down. So instead of taking that early entry where a lot of people are eager to jump in, short sellers will short this halt resume. And that's what we used to do, but now we're waiting, anticipating for that move, move and clear out and then getting in. So it's more of a patient entry and obviously it paid off in this example. Very nice 2030 gain here.
