This is a short transcript excerpt from a YouTube video (uploaded by Kardec Trader) in which the speaker reflects on their trading journey and addresses the lack of a single personal mentor. The speaker describes learning from a wide collective of sources — books, YouTube creators, and many individuals — rather than one person, and notes that trading communities and social-media-based mentorship were less prominent when they began (2012–2013) compared with 2023.

I realistically didn't have a mentor, but I hate talking about that for the reason that when I say that I didn't have a mentor, people like, oh, he did have a mentor, but he's not telling us. But what I will say I had a collective of thousands of mentors. You know all the books I read, even if I got one snippet of a book, that person is a mentor to me. If I watch the YouTube video and I learned something, that person is a mentor to me. So I don't have one particular person holding my hand throughout the journey, but I did have a collection of multiple people that I watched that I read books on. From. From far away perspective, I would consider them mentors, but I never had a person holding my hand helping me. I wish I did. But also back when I started trading in 2012, 2013, trading wasn't as big as it is today. In 2023, nowhere big. So you didn't have people on social media or YouTube wasn't as big as it is now in the trading community, so it was harder to find someone to post it is today.
