A client just asked for a thousand dollars back. He sent me an email this morning and after reading what he had to say, I think I'm gonna have to give it to him. And here's why. So I have this bet with each and every client who has signed up in BYOB, my build your own business group program, from December 2024 on that if they hit $100,000 in revenue in the first 12 months of being in that program, then I will pay them $1,000 of their initial investment back. And this morning I got this email from my client who joined the program in January. So in four months he has hit $100,000 in revenue in his new business. When I came up with this idea in December, my whole team thought I was a little nuts. Like, first and foremost, they're like, Katie, that's not how bets work. You don't make a bet with people hoping you're going to lose. But also they're like, Katie, like, the point of having a business is to make money and you want to give money away. But let me tell you, my whole reason for being in business is to empower people to start their own business and be successful and make money and generate wealth for themselves. If $1,000 is going to make a difference in the motivation that gets them there faster, I will pay it all day, every day. But let's be real, I wasn't anticipating like this happening until like later this year, right? Because if I just rolled it out in December, you know, typically it takes longer than four months to hit $100,000 in revenue. But maybe this is a sign that the bet is extra motivating that pushes people to get there faster. Who knows? Time will tell.
