Brave Biz Labs - 19th September 2025

A Brave Biz Labs group coaching livestream (hosted by Katie McManus) where four participants—Katie, Lauren, Tia, and Tommy—check in, celebrate small wins, and work through current business and personal challenges. Key moments: a website-redesign consultation for Lauren (advice to present clear "for individuals" vs "for organizations" pathways on the homepage), a short clearing/venting exercise, and a facilitated conversation about common productivity drains with practical tactics (pattern interrupts, abundance practice, job fair follow-up actions, and scheduling rules). The tone is practical, supportive, and coach-led.

It always makes me laugh when it's just us. Like, we talk 400 times a day.
Okay, I want to show you something. I meant to show you this on Wednesday, but we were talking about other things. I'm going to add fathom in. Okay.
I know what you're trying to show me.
Ah.
Like, it's so weird. Hi, Tia.
Hi, Tia.
Damn it. The one time doesn't do it.
I know.
Sorry. Fine.
Oh.
Oh.
It just did it. It just did it.
There you go. This meeting is being live streamed. Okay, cool. So that didn't happen our whole call on Wednesday because I didn't have Gandalf in there, so. Okay, the live streaming. So Tia backstory. Lauren has not liked this. This thing. And, like, I'm obviously not live streaming my one on one calls to anywhere or, you know, even these calls, but she was like, oh, my God, it makes me feel so creepy. And I'm like, yeah, I get it. Like, it's a weird way to say it, but not live streaming. But it's really just fathom. I don't know why they say it like that.
Yeah, we fathom our sessions and then they, like, automatically come to me, which is great, but, you know, if I come in crying, the last thing I want is to, like, later find out I was on YouTube for my session where I got, like, real vulnerable.
Those videos get the best views.
I went viral crying to my coach about my business. I don't know if that would ruin my business or if that would actually help my business, but.
Right, right, right.
Stay away from it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I. I've only seen you, like, twice, but every time I see you, I want more information about your tattoos.
Oh, yeah.
So pretty and bright and vibrant. Like, they're gorgeous.
Thank you, Tia.
Tia does a lot of things. Tia also does pinup, right? It's been up. Yeah. Yeah.
What's up?
Yeah.
Like, dressing up in, like, old 1950s outfits and taking photos.
It's badass.
Or being in, like, a pinup contest. Yeah.
Do you post them anywhere?
Yeah, on my same work Instagram.
What's your. What's your handle?
I'll put it in the chat.
Oh, thank you. That's amazing. I love that.
Thanks.
Awesome. Well, happy Friday. What are we celebrating this week, everyone?
I can celebrate not crying and Lauren being great.
Good, good, good. Even if you did cry, you could celebrate crying, but, you know, for the sake of your mascara. Yeah, yeah. Awesome. Lauren, what are you celebrating?
Crying, being willing to cry and then being okay after it. So, Tia backstory. I'VE had an incredibly challenging year and a half and things have started to look up. And then the other day, like, was like shoe dropping after shoe dropping after shoe dropping and. And I woke up the next morning knowing I was okay. And that was like a huge relief.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Awesome. Yeah. The resilience bit of running a business, like it's like a muscle. Like at first it's gonna be really weak and like something bad will happen and you're gonna just completely crash out and it'll take you a while to recover and then it'll happen again. It'll take you a little less time to recover and then it'll happen again a little less time. And like the goal is not to avoid the crash out. The goal, because like it's gonna happen, things are gonna go wrong. You know, you don't have control around a lot of things, unfortunately. I wish you did. Like, the goal is to speed up the recovery time. Right. The goal is to notice, oh my God, this is gonna trigger a crash out. Cool. Let me go do some self care. Allow myself to process the crash out emotions. Great. You know, maybe you take the rest of the day off and then you wake up fine the next day. Right. You know, and then like ultimately you get to a point where something happens. You're like, oh my God, I feel like I should be crashing out right now. But I know things are going to be okay. Like this has happened before a gazillion times. Things are going to be absolutely fine.
So, I mean, fine is a trap.
But yeah, they're going to be absolutely okay. Awesome. Okay, what questions do we have today? How can I help?
Well, I guess I have a question. So I sent you the other day in no hurry, but I sent you like the first page of my website site redo and it's funny because I'm. I'm in this new networking group TIA called the Connective. And people we all like are looking at each other's websites and it's so clear that mine needs to be updated because it is solely focused on executive coaching. And the other part of my business is, is HR consulting. And so Katie and I had talked about making my website executive coaching focused with a link to the HR services. And so I'm rewriting, modernizing really. Like when I did my website I was just a baby and so I'm updating. And what we had talked about was focusing my website on executive coaching with like a pass through to HR work. But the people I'm meeting on the connective Are like, oh, I don't even see HR work on your website. I'm like, yeah, that's correct. I'm working on updating it. So I'm curious, Katie, like, if you. If. I mean, we can live. Look at what I've written. It's not a secret, but I'm curious, like, do I integrate HR work into the homepage or do I not? What I'm learning in my conversations is that I do. I do, like, fine as a trap applies to both sides of the business. And I just, I don't want people who are individuals to think like, oh, I don't apply to them because it looks like I work with companies.
Right?
Yeah.
So.
Yeah, so, okay, so here's an option. You could have find, like it. You could set it up so it's like a. Choose your own adventure. So you could say, like, for individuals, find as a trap for individuals and find as a trap for organizations and.
Have that be the home page.
Well, you could have it be the. At the top of the home page. And then, like, whatever they click, it'll jump them down to that portion. So, like, individuals could be first, but if they hit find as a trap for organizations, it'll, like, jump down to, you know, a portion that is all about your HR consulting, your fractional HR work.
Okay. I'm having trouble visualizing that.
So, you know, how on a page.
Do you want to open my website? Because, like, the whole structure of my website isn't going to change, but I'm certainly happy to add a section somewhere.
Right. So you go away box. Okay. So you could have, like, a little bar here that's like, for individuals and for organizations. I click on for. I don't know why I just clicked. There's nothing there. But if I click here for organizations, then it could just jump me down to a portion that's, like, about your work with organizations. Yeah, I mean, yeah, because that way, like, it immediately tells me that, you know, oh, cool. Like, she has two options.
Yeah, I like that. And that should be below the. I mean, I really do like my intro. The font's going to change, but I really do like my. That, like, intro block.
Yeah.
Okay.
I like this too. I. I do want this to be more different, tone wise.
Yeah. Yeah. Like, you mean visually?
Yeah, visually, yeah.
We're gonna. We're simplifying backgrounds. So I did a lot of layering. My first go round. And if you go to the bottom of the screen, keep going all the way. Yeah, stop there. So, like, more. More clear. I Mean, the. Again, the font is changing. It's going to be more readable. Readable font, but like the cleaner look of blocks and contrasting colors without the layered in, like, textured backgrounds.
Right.
Is where we're headed, right? Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. Awesome.
Yeah, so it'll. It'll brighten it up as opposed to this sort of muted, like, thanks for coming in.
Yeah.
Like, you're here.
Yeah. But if you do that, then it'll. It'll help people kind of go like, oh, cool. Like, yeah, for organizations.
Okay, I like that. And then don't look at it yet because I'll also write the blurb then. For hr.
Yeah. You can also say executive coaching for individuals. Fractional HR work for organizations.
Yeah.
You know, like just like brick the forehead. Super obvious. Here's how I'm useful to you.
Okay.
And then, you know, pick your own adventure.
Okay. Thank you.
Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I love how you said we're modernizing it as if, like, you like, established this in the late 19th century.
I mean, I was born in the 1900s, so old timey me.
Old timey you. Oh, man. Cool. What else do we have?
I think that's it for me. I'm only here till 11:30. I have a meeting, unfortunately.
Okay.
I don't really have any questions. I just always try to show up when I can.
Yeah, totally. Yeah, I think, you know, it's interesting. Whenever they're like the summer, people are very busy, they don't come to a lot of calls. And I'm noticing this year in particular, anytime there's like a really heavy thing that happens earlier in the week, like, it does hurt attendance to stuff will have to process, you know, or like they want to isolate in some way. Yeah.
So, yeah, I mean, yesterday, if this was yesterday, I would not have been here. I was so crashed out yesterday.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I'm hearing a lot of. Yeah. Yeah.
It's a weird time. Yeah. Maybe.
Maybe that's what you should help us chat about or something.
Yeah, cool.
That yesterday too.
So let's. Let's do a clearing. All right. So like, whatever it is that you are feeling about the state of the world, let's just rotate back and forth and like, first thing that comes to mind, don't overthink it. If you're like, Mickey Mouse is an asshole, fine. Like, we're not going to own it as like that's your truth, but the, the whole thing is like, just to like, say it so it gets out of your system and we'll do this for about four minutes. So who wants to start us off? Just like, I'm getting this out of my system, this thing. I'm thinking.
I'll go. Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert are signs that we are losing freedom of speech.
Yeah. Yeah. Tia.
I hate my part time job and I need a new one.
Lauren, you go.
Katie. Yeah.
Oh, God. I'm experiencing a lot of fear around how I show up. You know, I want to run my business and I want to have impact, and it's really hard to balance both energetically. Tommy, just, you know, we're doing an exercise right now, so just hold on for like four minutes. Okay? Lauren.
I am tired of getting bad news.
Yeah. Yeah, Tia.
I'm tired of not getting interviews.
Yeah. Like, my heart hurts for my clients who are really struggling with what's going on right now, and I, I wish I could just go and beat some.
People up for them.
Yeah.
Yeah, Yeah. I want to have a day where I don't have bad news or, and I, I don't hear bad news from anyone else on a micro or macro level.
Yeah. T, I.
I need more friends I can rely on and spend too.
Yeah.
Yeah. I want to stop doom scrolling at night because I realized last night that I doom scroll because I'm hoping I'll see something that will make me feel better about everything and that's not how social media works.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I am not around enough dogs.
Yeah. Do you?
You know, I also want more dates.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
I want more dates too.
Oh.
I want more. I am have just started dating someone and I want to, like, be in the middle. The beginning feels very stressful and hard and there have been added complications and I just, like, want to sit on my couch in my sweatpants with somebody. Yeah.
I want, I want more people to respond to, like, events and stuff that I host, whether it's work related or not.
Yeah.
Yeah. I would really love to figure out where I want to live.
I would love to be able to buy a place and, like, really make it my own.
I wish that I didn't live in a studio so I could host people in my home again without my cats trying to steal all the snacks.
There.
God, I, I, I would just love a day where I don't have to see that guy's face, you know, that I could just like, go my whole day without it showing up anywhere on social media or the news.
I would like to erase the visual of his giant banner on the Department of labor building in dc.
Yeah.
So creepy. And dictator oriented.
Yeah. I wish that I had eat things free, that I could, like, go to community organizing meetings and, like, try to do something.
Yeah. I wish I were a vampire and I had endless energy because then I could go really, really fast and I wouldn't have to sleep. And I could do stuff, like, inside in the dark during the day, and then I could, like, be active and, like, doing things at night as well. I feel like I would be very effective as a vampire.
That's fair.
Thank you.
I wish I didn't have constant fear that everything's going to fall apart.
And then we'll do one more round. Okay.
Maybe not a totally negative one, but something to laugh at is that talking about vampires, there's this one customer at work who noticed my teeth, and she was like, you look like a vampire. But she was, like, smiling about it because she was, like, sharp teeth. It was like, what? That's really weird. But okay. But she came in last night, too, and she's like, I remember you, the vampire.
It's like, okay.
That'Ll make Halloween easy. Yeah. Like, I. I'll bounce off of that. I, like, really want to devote energy to enjoying Halloween because it's my favorite holiday and I don't want anything to ruin it. Yeah.
I went first, so I think we're done.
Okay, cool. Awesome. Welcome, Tommy. We were just doing a little clearing exercise.
I gotta shake it off.
Yeah. Like, if you want to energetically just wipe it off of your body. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man. Tommy, is there anything you want to clear?
Nothing jumps to mind. But don't get me started, otherwise I'll never stop.
It's good to see you, Tommy.
Yeah.
And yourself.
Yeah. Okay, so now that we've done some clearing, you know, let's talk through. What are the things that take you off your game? What are the things that jump out at you throughout the day that just, like, send you spiraling or distract you from the work? I know for me, it's like social media posts and breaking news, you know? And unfortunately for my work, you know, I have to be on social media to promote my stuff. But it really does send me into a weird mood where it affects my energy, where if I have, like, a whole content plan, it's really hard to stick to the content plan because I feel like it just doesn't energetically match with the going on in the world. All right, what is that for you guys? What's the thing that takes you out of your game?
I feel like, for me, my, like, old habits take me out of my game. Like, I have a contract with an HR client right now, and I put them before everything because my old habit is to please my employer. And they're not my employer, they're my contract. But I find that, like, I like, shove all my stuff into a corner to take care of them.
Yeah. Cool. Good catching that. Tia, what about you?
I feel like things that take me off my game are just, like, generally feeling broke and like, not having time for fun. And so, like, yesterday was yesterday. No, the day before, I was like, I'm gonna get out of the house. I'm gonna try to do something fun. And then like, everything I did was just, like, not fulfilling. I'm just like, how do I fix this?
Yeah.
So it's like hard to, like, want to do work if I, like, just aren't. If I'm just not on it.
Yeah. And you know what? That is so hard because you know, how you do one thing is how you do everything. So, like, if you're feeling scarce in time, like, you'll start like, focusing on the scarcity of money, and then you'll start focusing on the scarcity of fun. It's like the mode we feel like we're in in one place, we try, we then automatically apply it everywhere else. So. Yeah, I can see that.
Yeah.
Tommy, what about you? What takes you out of your game?
That's a tough one. It floats with the seasons. So usually the heat lately during summer, so certainly took me so long to find a decent air conditioned bar. So it's. It's odd one just usually a bit of lack of routine. You know, it. It's. As soon as you get into something, whether it's a project, an edit, you've. As soon as you get into it, you've got to go do something again.
Right.
You know, so, you know, building a route scene around a very fluid place is, is always an interesting challenge. Yeah.
Yeah. Cool. All right, so I want to do a little bit of journaling. And I know, Lauren, you have to leave it at the half hour. Okay, so the thing that you just said that takes you out of your game. What are the questions I want you to ask? Okay, so I want you to take a few moments and I want you to write out, like, the sequence of events that happens when you get taken out of your game. Don't, don't like, write the whole story, but like, like first this happens and then this happens, and then this happens, and then this happens. Right. And then I want you to notice, like, where's the point where you can do a pattern interrupt. Where's the point where you can say, whoa, okay, this point, this is where I need to create some breaks. I need to create some boundaries for myself. So let's do a little journal on that for about five minutes. Whatever comes out comes out. There's no right or wrong here. Is that clear to everyone?
Can you just ask the question one more time?
Yeah. So whatever takes you out of your game, I want you to write out the list of sequence of events that leads to that happening. And it could be thoughts, it could be, like a certain thing in your routine that triggers you. It could be getting your schedule at the beginning of the week, Tia. You know, it could be hearing other people, you know, talk about doing X, Y and Z, and that triggers you into it. And just so you know, like, you can have multiple things for each stage. Cool.
Though, if you tell us to have five minutes and Lauren's got to leave in five minutes, do we need to.
Shorten the writing time and I'll go into it later because.
Making sure that Lauren has whatever follow up.
Yeah. She gets on demand.
That's so nice. Thank you, Tia.
Okay, Got it.
Yeah. Thank you. All right, I'll see you in five. Okay, cool.
Who.
Who wants to read their list? Their sequence of events? No. Okay, what was the. What's the point at which you can do a pattern interrupt?
I don't know. I'm just getting into a venting list of, like, I don't know where I'm. What I'm trying to do better.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you know, Tia, for you, it. It's really interesting topic because again, it's scarcity. Slash or versus abundance. Yeah, right. And it's so easy when you do have scarcity in one area of your life, be it money, be it time, be it joy, to really start focusing on all the areas in which you, you know, also have scarcity. And that's not something that you're just going to naturally shift out of. You have to kind of be forceful about it, you know? So, like, what is the thing that you are abundant in? You know, it could be cat hair on your clothes. Okay, right. You are abundant in cat hair on your clothes, I'm sure. Yeah, right. You are also probably abundant in some kind of clothing item or accessories. What. What's your go to collection?
I wear a lot of dresses.
Okay. So you're probably. You're abundant in dresses.
I'm abundant in tattoos.
Abundant and tattoo. Yeah. What else? And it can be silly. It doesn't have to be, like, something that is gonna, like, change your life.
I'm abundant in dinosaur decorations.
Great.
Love that.
Yeah.
You know, and it doesn't necessarily even have to be your abundance. You can notice, like, wow, the world seems to be abundant in balloons today. What's that about? Okay, you know, I'm noticed, like, there is an abundance of. Of house plants in the windows that I'm looking at. Right. What we need to do is we need to retrain your mind to start looking for the abundance.
Okay.
However it's showing up, Right? It could be like, wow, there's an abundance of boring white guys wearing boat shoes right now. You know, because what we. What we focus on, our mind starts to look for. Right. And we look for other areas that we can find abundance.
Okay.
Okay. So I don't know, like, what kind of practice you want to do if it's just something that you want to set a reminder on your phone.
Yeah.
No. Name ten things that they're. That's abundant right now. Right. You know, remind me your archetypes again. Your money archetypes. It was alchemist ruler.
And.
What was the other one?
I don't know. Did the results come?
An accumulator. Oh, okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay. So your accumulator wants to go and, like, count each penny that you have in your bank account.
Yeah.
Right. And for your accumulator, the fact that you can't do that and feel good about it is going to really, really freak out the accumulator. So, you know, one thing that you can do to make the accumulator feel better and this will be great for your ruler as well, it's to come up with, like, small actions that you can take every day that are abundant. Right. So it could be you go and comment on 20 other pieces of content for other people who are in the wedding industry. Right? You are abundant in little tiny actions that gets that get you seen.
Okay.
Right. You might, like, introduce yourself to five people and it's like, oh, okay. You are abundant in introductions.
Okay.
Right. Because your accumulator wants something to count. Right. Needs something to say. Okay, I get. I get credit for this.
Yeah.
Right. And just remind yourself that, like, all of these things are foundational to you getting clients and money. Right. Because people can't hire you if they don't know that you exist.
Yeah.
Right. So, you know, it might be that you do, you know, three stories in your Instagram account. Right? Because I think. I think that's. That's the part where you can get hung up on Is, you know, overthinking what you're going to post.
Yeah.
Right. And, and you know, like you can post or not post, but if you show up in, like there are already people who are following you. Right. They already know that you exist. And if you just like go and remind them here, you know, and it could be, you know, I'm walking past this floor, this, you know, flower stand, and I notice these flowers and oh my God, like, it just got me thinking about how pretty these would be as a centerpiece at a wedding or how gorgeous would these be in a bouquet, you know, or you could do like a really alternative, like boutonniere using this, this and this. Yeah, right. And just like off the cuff. It doesn't have to be stylized. You know, you could be walking. You don't even have to look at the camera. Right, okay. Yeah, of course. Tommy, what came up on your.
The, the thing that usually triggers it is actually just not getting back to the home office before 1 o' clock when it gets really hot and noisy. You know, I have, I have to get out in the mornings. I, I literally just cannot wake up and be in the same building. So. Which is fine. You go there, you have a cup of tea, you get cracking when you work. If you, it's really tempting to stick around once you've got into your groove.
Yeah.
And if you don't, then. Or if I don't, then, you know, like distractions, creeping that it's been a fairly hot summer, so you got at least move on and find a place that's a bit cooler. You know, the environment gets a bit lively occasionally you will get some interesting people turn up and, you know, productivity goes down in less time at the end of the day, that's it. Things get done, but just not as much time afterwards.
Right. So what would you say is the time on the clock that, you know, that usually shifts over?
It's, it's usually about 1130 and it's, it's tempting to stay or it's, you know, you've just got settled or you just, you've hit your, you know, you've hit your gear. I, I do not hit gear till about at least noon and maybe, maybe later. I'm a late guy mentally, anyway.
Okay. Yeah. So, you know, it could be that you set a timer on your phone and when it goes off, it's your sign that you need to move on to the next place. You know, I, in knowing you, I know that like, it would probably serve you to have like a Flowchart of rules. Like, if this, then that, and if this, then that. Because, like, if you're tempted to stay because it's a fun vibe, give yourself an afternoon or two where that's what you do.
Okay.
Right. But don't. Don't make it wrong all the time. Right. You could pick. You could pick like three days a week where you set that timer to move on to another location, but on two days a week. And you get to change whatever those are. You know, maybe there's a soccer game on or a football game, whatever you guys call it.
Yeah.
And like, you kind of want to hang out at the bar after you finish some work and maybe do some work in the background while you're doing it. But, like, don't make it wrong. Right. Because, I mean, there's a reason you want to stay around.
Yeah. Being cooped up indoors all day, not seeing people is pretty much covered. Round two.
Yeah. Yeah. And I think that's a. That's a very, very common issue that business owners who started their business in Covid, it's just the pattern they keep going back to. And it's that like, self isolation, because that's how you got work done then.
Well, even prior to Covid, I was doing most of it from a basement.
Right, Right. But you've grown and you changed over the last five, 10 years. Right. And now, like, you have. You have a hunger to go out and socialize.
Yep.
And full permission to do that. Just make sure that you're doing it on specific days that work for the schedule so you can get work done.
I hear you. I've got that.
Yeah.
Thank you. Yeah.
And you know, and maybe that's not even the answer. You know, maybe you're getting up earlier, maybe you're doing a whole bunch of other stuff different. But like, we get to make the rules is the point. We get to change the. The conversation that we're having with ourselves. Right. He's like, I can make everything I do all day long wrong. Like, this isn't going to help you with your business. This is going to like, prevent you from getting where you want to go. And it's like, okay, well, that's not really helpful. Right. That's not inspiring talk to get me to go and do the things right. But if in every moment I get to say, okay, cool, what is my operating system? What do I need right now? Do I need to go to a coffee shop and just shoot the shit with some people? Do I need to take my dog for a walk? Where Is she good? She didn't hear me. Like, am I motivated to write right now? Like, you get to set the rules and you get to determine what's going to be most beneficial for you. I had a mentor at one point, he said, you know, your reality is created by the two conversations you're having. The conversation you're having inside your head and the conversation you're having with other people. And if one of those conversations goes to shit, you have to move on to the other one. And honestly, most of the time, the conversation that goes to shit is the one you have with yourself.
I'm just making a note of that.
Yeah. It's one of the reasons why, like, my programs, I have so many group things. So you get to meet other people who are doing this. Right. So that you can, you know, have some exposure to other entrepreneurs and hopefully, you know, become business besties. So you can, like, text them and say, hey, listen, I'm. I'm in my head right now.
Can.
Do you have five minutes where you can talk, know, and get me out of my head and remind me why I'm doing this? So whenever you're in that, you know, whenever your. Your conversation in your head goes to shit, you get to change it. Right. We want to be discerning with this because I'm sure we all have friends and family who really want to be supportive and helpful, but they always say the wrong thing because they don't understand. Like, I know I have those. Don't go to them when you need to do this, when you need this reset.
I very. My family barely don't know what I do. The only. The only person who knows is the. Is the one on LinkedIn.
Right, right.
You know, like that.
Yeah. Yeah. But even, like, the bar owner, you know, they own a business.
True, true.
Talk to them about it.
No, I got you. I'm just. I'm just writing it all down.
Yeah.
As I'm saying this, are you guys. What other ideas are you guys getting about things you can do?
I don't have other ideas, but I do want to say that I wasn't sure if I was going to make this meeting today, so thanks for this.
Yeah, of course. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I've been broke a lot of times. Like, I mean, I'm. I'm a maverick. Like, that's my money archetype. It's very common for mavericks to, like, go from, like, lots of money to broke. Lots of money to broke. And it's really easy to get sucked into just focusing on the Lack of money, Right? Because, like, that feels like the most important information. Right? But when we focus on that, what are we not focusing on? We're not focusing on potential opportunities. We're not focusing on people we need to reach out to. We're not focusing on, like, coming up with an idea that could potentially make us some money. Right? It's. It's that focus on the lack that gets us into that freeze mode that keeps us from doing the next thing and the next thing and the next thing. Right? And really, the only thing that can, like, break that focus is just doing something. Right? Because once you do something, even if it's like submitting an application for a job or, you know, creating a, like a post or doing a story or reaching out to a former client, just checking in, how they're doing, you know, you get that dopamine hit of, oh, I just did that. Oh, okay, cool. Like, I can cross that one thing off my list. You know, I'm a big fan of doing a bunch of stuff, writing it down, just going through and just crossing it all out. You know, sometimes you have to mine your own dopamine like that, and it's okay. Like, however we game our own system is perfectly fine. Right? But, like, if it's especially easy to get in your own head, when you go online, you see a bunch of other people who do what you do and seem to be super successful at it. Guess what? They've been broke before too, and they may be broke right now. You have no idea what's going on. You know, we play comparitis with people and we have no idea what's actually going on under the surface.
I guess another question that I have that I don't know, I don't know, it's just. So the reason why I wasn't sure if I would make this call today is because there was a career fair that started at the same time. And I'm like. And it goes until like the middle of the. Whatever you have in the afternoon, I forget what it's.
Oh, yeah, the co working session.
Yes, the co working session. And I'm very indecisive. I'm like, what should I spend more time doing? I don't know. Because I'm like, I do want to feel productive.
Yeah.
And I want to, like, get things done, but I also need a job. So I'm like, see what happens. But I also, like, don't feel prepared for it. So I don't know.
Well, okay, so I. I like looking at what's the immediate Need.
Yeah.
Right. You know, so if you need a new job, like, let's prioritize that. And also, you don't necessarily have to go and apply to things today. You can go and ask them questions and do like, like, information mining. Okay. You know, get a sense for, you know, the company, what kind of roles they're hiring for. You could have a clipboard and you could, you know, go around and ask questions, you know, and then follow up later. You know, if companies are showing up at a job fair, like, they're not just gonna, like, take applicants from that job fair. You reach out after the fact and you say, hey, I met so and so at this job fair. You know, I did a lot of research on the company, and I find this really fascinating. And I love your mission over here. And by the way, I see you have these three positions available. Are they still available? You know, that is a lot more powerful. It makes you stick out more than, like, shoving your application in a pile, you know, at a job fair that they're just going to, like, shuffle through, barely look at. Yeah, Right. So, like, something you may want to do is just, you know, go there, connect with people on LinkedIn, make a list, and then you can go after the fact and just do your research on the companies and then send those. Those direct messages through LinkedIn. Okay. And if you get emails or whatever in their business cards, you can do it that way as well. Yeah, Right. But, like, don't hold yourself to the standard that you have to be perfectly prepared to apply to something right now.
Yeah.
Right.
Thank you.
Yeah, but I mean, like, you know, your business will always be here.
Yeah.
It is not your main money maker right now.
No.
Right. And that's okay. It's. It's not meant to be. You're so early on in the phase of growing this. Right. So we need to look at how do we take care of Tia and make sure, you know, she's housed and fed and, like, you know, making enough money that she can really focus on growing it, you know, and that's important, right? It's. It's part of building the business.
Okay.
Okay. Thanks. Yeah. So cool. What else do we have today? Nothing. Okay. Should we move to main takeaways?
Sure.
What's the main takeaway?
I don't know what the main takeaway is. All this was kind of helpful. Just useful to show up even if I didn't want to or. Not that I didn't want to, but, like, even when I was feeling conflicted about attending. Yeah.
Yeah. I'M really glad you made it today.
Thanks.
And, Tommy, what's your main takeaway?
Just what you've told me earlier. You know, flowcharts, allowing a little bit of, you know, getting out there. That isn't stuff I voice very often, you know. And as I said, my eyes are I've been up really early today, so that's why I'm not actually on the screen, you know, so it's just good to get that voiced out, you know, and actually, you know, not not be damned for it, you know, so. No, I appreciate that.
Well, I'm so glad you both made it today. And you know where to find me if you have any questions. And I'll see you next week. Okay.
Thank you again.
Bye. Thanks.
Bye.
