Brave Biz Labs 2024 10 04

A Brave Biz Labs group coaching session (hosted by Katie McManus) with participants Monica, Erica Moon, and Jason. The meeting covers weekly wins, client work, and practical business advice: Monica explores pivoting to paid training in data analytics for internal audit; Erica celebrates first client website work and discusses setting up a business domain/email and contracts; Jason shares struggles with energy/consistency and plans a 30-day posting habit plus a short daily manifestation practice. The host gives tactical guidance on marketing, product ideas (bootcamps, 25-day courses), outreach to tool vendors for sponsorships, LinkedIn growth tactics, and simple manifestation routines (dry brushing, humming, totems).
Chapters
Hello.
I think this. This challenge has people maxed out on their Katie time. You know, Katie, it's okay. It ends next week. Everyone will have more questions.
What.
What are you celebrating this Friday?
Am I celebrating. The audit conference that I was able to get invited to, the one that I asked if I could get a discount for? I started watching those, and the first session was basically like a survey type thing. So they had gone out and asked a whole bunch of internal audit, like, caes certain questions. So in my mind, I was like, okay, so this is, like, the first level of market interviews. Although, like, I can't go out and ask these questions. At least I have, like, hey, like, a whole bunch, like, 300 people were asked the specific question, and these are the trends that are happening. So I have, like, a place to start. I feel like.
That's awesome. Yeah. I hope you copious notes. That's awesome.
Yeah, absolutely.
Okay. I'm still. I'm so impressed that you asked and you got a yes. I just have to say that again, like, that's so huge.
Thank you.
Amazing. And hi, Erica, welcome. Hi. What are you celebrating?
Oh, my goodness. I finished working the first part of my first client's, like, thing, and we just had a call, and he is so excited about me helping. Helping him build the website for that restaurant.
Oh, my God.
I was able to do, like, which I was able to, like, convince, and just. The restaurant is up and running in Colorado. Don't know if anyone is near there, but there's a new Indian and Thai restaurant there. And just putting it all online was like, oh, my gosh. It was fun, thrilling, stressful, all at the same time.
Yeah.
I am making a pitch deck for the interior designer. We had a meeting on Monday, and I'm really excited about that and nervous and all the things. And yeah, I also have to finalize on making a contract for my roommate, who is the influencer, and she's been getting some deals, some brand deals, and one is, like, flying to Turkey for, like, international, like, what do you call it? Travel health thing where you get to travel internationally and get, like, all your health clinics checked. There's apparently.
I've seen that. Yeah, That's a whole thing.
And apparently there's a company that reached out to her, and they were saying, like, oh, we want to partner with you.
Yeah. Rad.
So all the things. That is why I have been quiet, because I've just been working on all of that, and I'm like, oh, my God.
Hey. That's honestly the best reason to Ghost me because you're too busy working for clients. Sure, I'm down for that.
Yeah. So those are, those are my big three wins for this week. They have been really, really big.
Yeah. So here's what I want you to do for the influencer client. You know, your roommate. I want you to document how long you've been working with her and the result. And I want you to get into the practice of every time your client has a result or gets a brand deal, I want you to look at when you started and look at the brand deal and just give. Write down the details because it's really hard to remember all the wins you've helped your clients get to. Right, right. And it's, it's so much easier later for you to go back and be like, oh, cool. Like, here's how I helped this person get from here to here. And that's great marketing. So when we get to the Q A portion, but congratulations.
Thank you.
Awesome. And Jason, how are you doing? What are you celebrating?
I don't know, Katie. I don't have any wins this week, so I.
You say it with a smile. You know, I do.
Like, it's. I just.
We stopped hearing you.
Are you. Am I back here?
You know. Yeah.
So I'm, I'm trying not to compare my, myself to others in the room because I'm, I'm having, like. I wrote a post today about, like, getting back to the market research. I schedule it to. To release at 4:00 and I'm just trying to get back to. To like there.
Yeah.
In the midst of a little bit of chaos that's happening in my professional world right now, which I really can't control. So.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's where I'm at.
Yeah. You know, I wish I could tell you that, like, there's a point in your business where you stop going through shit like this. There's always going to be seasons. There's always going to be seasons. It gets scarier when it's your only form of income. And I can say as someone who's weathered a few seasons that weren't great, like things happened outside of my control, really had a hit on my business. I really wasn't able to give as much to my business. The fact that I went through it when I was in a similar stage to you, where it didn't need to pay the bills yet, and I built that emotional resilience to it. I honestly, I don't know if I would have gotten through it if I hadn't built that emotional resilience to it. So, you know what you're going through right now. Shitty. Like, we're not. We're not gonna try to gloss over it. Shitty. Just like a whole pile of turds. Okay. Like. And also, like, you're gonna learn how to, like, withstand it and not have a meltdown or have meltdowns that get you to where you need to go. There you go.
It's interesting. Like.
Oh, sorry.
I was going to say it's interesting because in. In previous times, I would have been in meltdown mode. I'm not. Where I'm at right now is just an energy deficiency.
Yeah.
And I. I need to be able to find the energy to actually invest.
Yeah.
And. And what I've actually done is taken a step back, and I've done. I've been prioritizing, like, making sure that I'm getting my workouts in every day, trying to. Trying to take care of my eating. I've been, like, going back to that, like, core level of basics to get me through this season. And the. The only thing that makes me feel a little bit panicked is just, am I wasting time in this program? You know what I mean? Like, because.
Yeah, you're not.
That. That's. That's the only thing that runs in the back of my head.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, we have. We have this script for wasting time just always in everything, and yet, like, you're gonna get out of this. What you need to get out of this. Right. This is. This is like, the foundation that you can, like, hold on to when everything else is shaky. Right?
Yeah.
And sometimes. And it's. It's where I'm going to tell you things. Like, sometimes, like, your business needs you to just take a nap. Sometimes your business doesn't need you to go out and hustle. Sometimes your business needs you to take care of you. Right. Because if you don't do that, there's no way you're going to get out there and build a business. It's just not going to happen. Right. You can absolutely sit there and spiral and make yourself crazy thinking you should be doing this and you should be doing that right now. You can't. Right. And that's okay. I. I hereby give you permission, and I hope you're giving yourself some permission to take care of yourself right there. There is a seed in here of, like, this happens for your clients. You know, when this is happening for your clients, what would you tell them? You know, what are the things that you'd want to remind them of? When they're in this kind of shitstorm, Right? Like, you don't necessarily have to create content out of it right now, but note it down, write down how it feels to be here. Right? Because your clients are going through the exact same thing. And you can. You can share about this. You don't have to give all the details. You don't have to, you know, share that your company's having trouble and you're struggling to get the business off the ground. You can say, I remember a time when you. When this big thing was happening and this other thing was stressing me out, and this is how I felt, you know? And the thing that got me through was remembering this. And when my clients go through this, you know, it's. It's so much easier for me to support them going through it because I've been through it. Right. There was a time. Could be three days ago. Right, Right.
That's so true.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Yeah. There's. There's also this concept of, like, breakdown to break through. Right. Sometimes we need to have the breakdown. Sometimes, like, something needs to break in our lives to make space for the new thing to come in, you know? Does. Does anyone ever, like, look into things like feng shui? No. So in feng shui, I had a neighbor who lived upstairs from me at one point, and she was really into it, and she, like, you know, lent me her book on it, and I was looking at it, and I really wanted a boyfriend at the time, and so I was like, can feng shui help me get a boyfriend? It actually, like, does, because apparently, like, there's a way for you to set up your bedroom if you want to have a partner. So you have to make sure, like, the other side of the bed is clear. It's not, like, covered in laundry like my bed normally is. The other side has to have, like, a night table or a bedside table that is clear and has a charger and a place for a glass of water. And your closet needs to be half empty to make space for someone to come in. Right. Because otherwise, you're telling the universe there's no space here. Right. When we're starting businesses, sometimes the universe is like, oh, you need some space. Let's burn something down. Let's get rid of it. Let's. Coming with a bulldozer. And it's messy and it's painful, but it's a sign that the universe wants this for you.
Yeah, that's a little scary. But at the same time, that feels like what's happening a little bit yeah, yeah.
Erica, you do the Konmari. I know that, I know that term. But what is it again?
It's this Japanese lady who has a Netflix show, but essentially it's to, To.
Oh, Marie Kondo. Yeah, okay.
The Konmari Method.
Okay. Yeah.
Her whole book. But yeah, it's all about saying thank you next. And so I also feel like that, that way of like changing, moving, getting rid of things and just like that energy of just decompressing is also there. But yeah, if it makes you feel any better, I haven't been posting any social content at all. So in terms of consistency, J, you're winning.
Yeah, I, I have been consistent with that. Although I'll be honest, like the last couple of weeks, not the last 10 days. There's been several days where I probably shouldn't have, maybe shouldn't have posted anything, but I was like, damn it, I'm going to stick to this.
Yeah.
And I'm going to post for 30 days.
Uhhuh.
Because I'm. Because I said I was going to do that. Right. So I, I don't know, what are your thoughts on that? Like, it, like in terms of like showing up, even if it's not great. Because you said you were going to.
I mean, you know that sensation when you're out with people that you don't really know and you start getting really self conscious and you're like, what do I do with my elbows? Yeah, elbows. You're like, oh God. Like what do I do with my hands now? And you're just like, oh, yeah. You know, no one is paying attention to your elbows. No one is looking at you and be like, Jason's sitting weird. Like, what's he doing with his arms? What's he doing with like the bo. Like the top half of his whole body? Right. We tend to think everyone's looking at us and judging us. No one's paying attention. No. No one gives a fuck if it's not a great piece of content. They're just not going to read it. It's just not going to register. They're just going to like move on to the next thing. Right. But, but, but, but your name showed up, your picture showed up, you came. You were a little blip in their awareness field for a second there. That's the win. Right? And this isn't about you going and being perfect on social media every day for 30 days. Right. This is about you building that muscle that you can create content consistently and do it for a long ass period of time. And show yourself that you can do it. Right? And who knows, maybe one of those shitty pieces of content. I. I didn't see any from you. I haven't seen all of your posts, but I didn't see any. Who knows, Maybe that's enough for someone to be like, huh, I should pay attention to this guy.
You know?
And then the next thing you.
A couple positive ones. Sorry, I've had a couple positive ones. Like, some probably, like, five posts have gotten, like, 15, 20 comments, which for me was a lot.
Yeah.
So.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, you know, like, the more you show up, the more consistent you are about showing up. Like, the more likely people are going to consistently comment on your stuff. Right? Because, like, you live in a neighborhood, right? So you see neighbors every single day. So imagine you have there's an Airbnb and there are new people in and out of there a couple times a week. How likely are you to set up a conversation or to sit down and have a conversation with those people versus your neighbors?
Oh, yeah, not right.
The same on social media. If you're just an Airbnb guest who blips through every once in a while, why should anyone start a conversation with you? You don't matter. You're not a part of their life. They have no reason to care about you versus your neighbors, who are seeing you every day, kind of virtually waving to you as you walk to your car. They have a reason to start a conversation with you, even if your post isn't great that day. Right. So don't overthink it. You're doing a great moral story.
Thank you.
Okay, great. All right, what questions do we have today? Oh, and before I forget, Monica, I figured out what I did wrong about the events to make sure that they show up on your calendar. So it's all fixed. I did that. It was me. I did see the fix.
Okay, good.
Okay, good. Thank you for bringing it to my awareness.
Absolutely. So I guess this isn't necessarily a question.
Maybe.
But.
So.
Through that survey, that conference session that I was watching, they did a survey that interviewed, I think, about, like, 300 internal audit people asking them certain questions, and they found trends. One of the questions was around the lines of, like, why don't you use data analytics for your audits? And there were trends of resources, resource constraints, and then also lack of expertise. And so with that, I was thinking, maybe would it make sense to kind of shift my marketing for training people instead of saying, use data analytics, like, I'll help you learn how to.
Yeah, I don't know.
I'm trying to just like.
Yeah, So, I mean, like, out loud, there's always an opportunity for training here. And you. I mean, what careers could benefit from learning data analytics?
So, again, I want to stay in the internal audit space, but I want.
To make a point. So answer my question.
Oh, okay. Oh, okay. Literally everyone.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the trick here is finding out, like, why someone in audit would devote their time to figuring this out. Right. And also, like, I think if you're making the point well enough, if you're really speaking to the problem, you're going to get people in other. In other roles who are wanting this as well. Right. And so, you know, if you're open to that, you can absolutely do that. But I. Yeah, you could absolutely do a training program. You could do. I mean, you do the boot camp thing, like, what's. And it's several times a week, right?
Yeah. So the. The boot camp is through, like a company.
Yeah, I know, but like, you do similar kind of model.
I see what you're saying.
A nerd nourishment boot camp. I wouldn't do it several times a week just because it's. That's a lot. And for folks who already have a job and they're trying to do this to be better at that job, it might be a bit much, but you could absolutely run a training program for that. But again, we have to speak to the problem. We have to speak to. Here's what you're struggling with, and here are all the things you're worried about, and here's what your company is breathing down the back of your neck for. Right? So we need to make sure that they see that it's worth investing in both their time, energy and money.
Or.
Both those three things. But you know what I mean.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, Yeah. I mean, my brain goes to, like, you could train anyone on this, you know, I know you have the comfort level because you are an audit. Right. And you can really see how it would impact that. But also, it could help salespeople, also, it could help marketers. Also it could hit help, you know, executive assistants, honestly, like, it could help anyone in an organization. Right. And it's such a great skill to.
Have.
You know, I don't know, it's something to think about for you, you know, because if there's enough of a use case that you can say, hey, listen, this can help you get a promotion. This can help you make more sales. This can help you create campaigns that are far more effective. Right. And then you have a specific workshop on that thing. I mean that could be really effective and that could also be a doorway into you going in and doing some consulting in the company. Yeah. You know, And I will say, because you have a smaller following right now. How many, how many people do you have on your, on your newsletter?
About 1300.
Okay, great. Yeah. So I mean you can push it to that. We can start working on an email campaign that goes out to them to start pushing this. I would give it a few months to enroll into. Right. So that way you can really, really market it.
Yeah, that's true. Because I, I notoriously have a problem with not marketing things and just like, hey, here's my workshop, starts tomorrow, sign up, come.
You know, I have the same problem. I have the same problem. Yeah, yeah. Lady T. Yeah, like shiny object. Here you go. And then I'm bored.
I don't wanna.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Welcome to the club. Yeah, we need it. We need to do a little bit more for that. Right. Because yeah, rolling into a group program is a lot harder than enrolling into one on one. Also, we're coming up on the holiday season.
Yeah, yeah.
Right. So like this could be like a new year. New you kind of thing. Data analytics, you know. Oh yeah, yeah. And, and I would tell you too, like, do you want a promotion? The new year? Do you want this? Do you want this? Because a great skill set for you to add to your repertoire is this thing.
Yeah.
You know.
Yeah.
Yeah. Okay, cool. What other questions do we have?
I'm not sure if mine is really a question, but maybe reassurance. I think I've been putting off on making like a new business email as slash like all of that aside, because I was thinking about not like having it as@gmail.com but within purchasing it to. It's like within a company name like@company name.com. and now that like it's feeling a little bit more real of the clients coming in, I can't have it like overlap too much with my personal email anymore.
Right.
So yeah, I think it's just more of like taking that jump or should. Am I overthinking it and should it just be like, oh, just do like your company namemail.com.
I mean it can be. Here, here's my litmus test for this. Is it going to create too much work for you or. And even just mental load of trying to figure it out to go and create that email. I mean it's fairly simple. If you do it through godaddy, you go and you buy the domain and then you set up the email and then you can either operate within the outlook, you know, ecosystem that they have access to or you can sign in through Gmail. You know, absolutely. I would recommend sticking like if you can get erica moon.com I always recommend owning your domain name, like your name as a domain. But you know, I think it does give you that added element, especially as you're helping businesses. You know, if you're just working with like one on one clients, doing coaching, you know, I would say you could probably exist longer with your Gmail, but because you're working with businesses, they're probably going to want to see a business email.
Right. I have purchased an LLC under Moonlit Chick Media, but I was thinking of branching that as a Moonlit Chick Studios instead to kind of broaden my scope of what Moonlit Chick means. So that's where I'm like sitting.
Yeah. So remember, so you're going to be meeting people out and about. What are they going to remember? Are they going to remember your, your name? Are they going to remember the name of your business?
I hope it's my business name, but I guess me. It would be me.
Yeah, they're going to remember your name. Yeah. So then they're going to go back to their homes, they're going to go to the Google machine and they're going to Google. They're either going to like, what was her name? You know, Erica Sun, Erica Star. Erica Moon. Oh, Erica Moon. Okay, cool. And then they're gonna find your website that way. Typically it doesn't mean you can't have it redirect to another domain. Gotcha. Right.
Yeah, that makes sense. Okay.
Own your domain name. But yeah, I would have, I would have a website set up or at least a domain set up for your email copy.
Thank you.
Yeah, of course. What other questions do we have? Okay, bye erica. Okay, I want to do a little goal setting exercise because I think that might open up some questions. Sorry, I just got a weird message from someone saying that they have a baby in a potato sack. Don't know what that's about, but we'll find out later anyway. Okay, so I want you to think about the end of this year. You get to the to New Year's Eve and you're thinking about the last three months of your business. What will make you feel really proud for achieving. What goals have you reached. Just take a moment and write down anything and it can be business related. It could be you learned how to make a pie. It could be Anything.
It's.
Just let me know when you're done.
I'm done.
Okay. Okay, cool. What is on your list?
I'll go first. So I. I had one to two new clients because it's really important to me that if at the end of the year, even though things feel hard right now, if I'm able to even get one more, that would be very meaningful to me because I would have done it in a season of heart.
Yeah.
I'd like my LinkedIn followers to be @4000. That's something that's achievable at like, 3400 right now.
Yeah.
Posting daily has become a habit. And then I. I'd like to add some kind of manifestation practice. We've talked about this a couple of times, but I don't have anything that I'm consistently doing on a regular basis that's helping me in that area. So I think if I were able to build something in same way that we're building in the LinkedIn posting.
Yeah.
That would help me there.
Yeah.
Then I would feel like I finished the year really strong.
Yeah. Okay. Okay, Cool. All right. And then Monica.
So something that would make me proud of achieving by the end of the year is finishing my LinkedIn learning course and doing it well, feeling good about it. I already need to finish it by the end of the year anyway, so. But I would be proud of myself for doing it. I want to make a video series, But I want to be intentional about it because I've done this type of thing before, but every day I kind of just, like, said whatever I was going to say for 10 minutes, and then that was my video series. Mm. But I want to, like, put more effort into it. Like, build out scripts and, like, have a plan for it. I want to see if I could do that.
Okay.
And I also would really like to lose some weight. Fitness goal. I'm not going to put pounds to it. I just want to comfortable. Feel comfortable in my jeans.
Yeah.
Yep. I'm in the middle of that process right now.
Totally. Me too.
I know what you're talking about.
Yeah.
I'm like, I. I'm at the point in my life where, like, the numbers. I really don't care about the numbers anymore. I literally just would. It would feel so good to feel comfortable.
Yeah. To be able to walk around in a skirt when it's 70 degrees or hotter without your thighs bleeding.
Yes.
Now, small joys of life. Yeah. Cool. All right. Awesome. So, all right, so here are the goals. Attainable 100%. Doable you know, the question then becomes, what will it take to get that right? Jason? Like, I'm going to use the example of your, your client goal. You know, if you want one to two new clients, that tells me you need four to eight sales calls at least. Right? Because you're still like talking to the universe and getting it to send to you the right people. Right. Which means if you're doing, if you need four to eight sales calls, that tells me you need to be networking, you need to be doing your market research, you need to be posting about it onto LinkedIn and really just making sure everyone and their mother and their whole mother's yoga club knows that you do what you do. Right. 4K follows like, okay, so what is the limit of connection requests that you can do in a week?
I have no idea.
Let me look it up. You can send 100 connection requests per week.
Okay.
And 20 to 25 connection requests per day. So if we have 90 days left in the year. 89. 88. 88 days in the left in the year, I can do math, right? 30 days. Yeah, 88 days. Okay, we have 88 days. I've really overthought that, you know, and you want to get, what's the gap? 600. That's pretty easy, you know, and you just want to make sure that you're connecting with people who are active on the platform. So that means being really engaged in the comment section. So you're commenting on other people's comments and then sending a connection request and then commenting on another comment and, and sending a connection request. And then anyone who likes your con, your content, they, it, they write a comment on it. If you're not a first connection, you're connecting with them.
Okay.
Right. For Monica, you know, your LinkedIn learning course. How are you breaking that down?
Yeah, so I actually have check ins with my producer every other week. So then every week I set aside some time to work on scripts.
Yeah, cool. And then the video series, like, what's the goal with the video series?
I want to, I want to practice video content more with intention. So, like, my podcast is great and I've seen the progress in improving my speaking skills and whatnot, but again, it is an informal chat with folks. There aren't, you know, structured questions that I ask. I like that about the podcast, but I also would find, I, I in my head. I think it would be good to have some structure to practice this, having scripts and plans in place for the videos.
Okay, and where do you want to, like, is the video Series going to be a product in itself or is it leading people to a product? What, what, like question?
So that, that's what I'm right now.
It's just.
I want to do it in December with an Advent calendar in every day. It's, it's something that I've done before. All of these ducks came from an Advent calendar. And every day I would like bring out the duck and then we talk about some kind of data security topic just to, just to highlight like, you know, things that I'm passionate about and my brand and all of that. But again, it was just very chaotic and it was very fun.
Yeah.
But I feel like if I put together like a purpose with goals and scripts and all of that, it would have got more attention.
Yeah. Okay, cool. I mean, so there are a bunch of ways you could do it. So I'm going to use, I'm going to use health goals just as an example here. Like think of if you're having people learn how to do data, data analytics, like they probably want to practice on some personal stuff. You could have like, you know, the 24 days of building out like a notion place that like you pull data sets from.
Okay.
You know, and each day you set up the next thing and each day you set up the next thing. So it's like, oh, like here's the goal, here's what we're building. Let's build out the water tracker for this. How much water are you drinking per day? Let's do this. And I'm not attached to this idea. If you hate it, if you think it's terrible or if you want to change it. Don't feel like my feelings are going to get hurt. I don't understand half of what you do because that's not how my brain works. But it could be that thing that people could watch and it could help them set up something that teaches them both how to be better at data analytics, but also helps them manage their health better.
Yeah.
You know, or it could be anything, any project.
I like having it be all one thing that you're building on.
Yeah.
Because what I did previously, it was just like every day was a new random topic.
I like that. And you could literally just have it be like a 25 day sequence of things. And it's like each day I'm going to teach you one more thing that you need to do. And then you could charge for it. You could have it be a course at the end of it, you know, and then it's, it's easy because it's just like 25, 10 minute videos and it'll teach you, like, here's the one thing that you need to do and then you can stop here. You're not going to lose the progress. It's not going to mess up. Like, here's the next thing you can do and then here's the next thing you can do to build this out.
Yeah.
You know, and I mean, you could use it for your own weight. You could use it to like track your, your vegetable intake, whatever, you know, whatever, whatever you're trying to stick to. Yep. I, I tend to steer away from sharing weight loss journeys on social media because all of the weight loss coaches like to DM you and be like, I can help you. Yeah, I hate that anyway. But yeah, I mean, like, I think that would be really compelling and I think that would like, you could almost become the Excel girl. Do you know her?
Yes. Yes.
You know, you could become a version of. Yeah. Now it's a little more technically involved, but still.
Yeah, yeah, I've, I've thought about that as well.
Yeah. Yeah.
Okay. I like this.
Yeah. Because, you know, she gets, she gets invited to like Microsoft events. Oh, yeah, she gets, I mean, you know, you can get sponsored. I mean, if whatever you're doing, I mean, say, say you were to do this with Notion or with ClickUp, you could absolutely get sponsored by them to come in and do talks at events that they're hosting. Okay. You know, that's, that's another angle that we haven't talked about yet is, you know, what are the different businesses that your work kind of utilizes and how can you start showcasing in your content that you're such a pro at this and you have such a way with it that they should bring you in and, and have you do sponsored events.
Yes, I've thought about that. The difficult thing in the data space is there's a bazillion tools and so it's like trying to find which one I want to start using. And plus, like, I would have to go buy it.
Right.
So.
Right. So, yeah, you use the tools that you love, that you already own. You start creating content on how to use it and all the tips and tricks and then we create a whole little strategy for you to reach out to the companies that you haven't bought yet and say, hey, I don't know if you've ever seen my series on your competitor. Here's what I like about their product. Here's what I don't like about your product. Their product. I've heard you guys do these things better. I would love, and this is kind of like an influencer deal. I would absolutely love to test drive your product and do like a series where I'm talking about the pros and cons and giving a very real thing. But, you know, it would get your brand out there, you know, would you be willing to give it to me?
Yeah, I like that.
You know, and if I like it, we can talk about me doing some promotional stuff for you.
Yeah, I like this.
Right, because you want to. You want to have that be in integrity. Yeah, right.
Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah.
But who's to say you can't sell like a training video on how to use notion or a training video on how enter any program here?
Absolutely. Yeah. Okay. I like this. Okay. Yeah.
Because you're such a good teacher. You're such great teacher energy. You are so passionate about it, you know, and, you know, why not lean into that?
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
So, yeah, the tricky bit is where, like, you have to back it up to like where someone doesn't know anything. Right. With all this stuff, like, if someone has no vocabulary for data analytics, make sure you bring it back to that. Yeah, yeah. Sorry, we went on a little tangent there on building that out. But you're. You're seeing how you can build. You can kind of take the goal and reverse engineer the goal. Right. Just thinking through, you know, Jason, your manifestation. How much time do you have realistically to do something manifestation wise? Every day?
Like, I would like it to be like 10 minutes.
Yeah.
Maybe 15. Like, if, if it gets into like longer than that, I know I'm just not going to do it.
Yeah.
But my feeling is that if I was doing something small every day.
Yeah.
That would be meaningful right now.
Yeah. Yeah. So I'm just gonna throw out some options because I struggle with the same thing. I give myself a whole thing. I don't think the manifestation we've talked about because it takes like an hour to do it. I don't think that's gonna help. I think it's gonna be a thing that you tell yourself you're gonna do and then you don't do it and you feel like about it and then you just feel worse about it.
Yeah. I just need to start somewhere.
Yeah. So, okay, so for instance, like my manifestation right now because I kind of cycle through stuff is literally like taking a lock of hair. And I know this is not going to be the thing that you can do because of your. Your hair length challenged. Compared to me, my hair's Getting longer. I know, but you can't breathe. It is what I'm saying. So I take a lock of hair, and I just basically like, like visualize, like, just, like, draining all the negative energy, all the doubts, all the fears, all the things. And I just, like, do this for a few minutes, and I kind of breathe through it. I just imagine, like, my spirit guides just kind of, like siphoning off this energy. They're taking care of it. They're filtering it and sending it off somewhere where it can't get back to me during the day. And then as I braid it, I. With each braid, I say, I'm calling in my soul clients. I'm calling, calling in my power. I'm imbuing my body with power, you know, whatever it is that I'm wanting that day. Right? And then I. I, you know, take a little rubber band and I, you know, lock it in, and then I go about my day. Right. It can be as simple as that. Right. Another one could be. I don't know if you're into, like, dry brushing your skin before you get in the shower.
I've never done that.
So you take, like, a bore bristle brush, I think, and you just basically dry brush. It's supposed to be really, really stimulating for your nervous system, and it's supposed to be really good to help you, like, bring your stress down and. And also for your skin and your circulation, right? So you could almost turn that into a manifestation. You can say, you know, I release all of the negative energy, all the doubts, all the things, all my fears about this. And, you know, you do all over. And then as you, like, you get in the shower and you can have your shower be, you know, as I cleanse my hair, like, I'm. I'm instilling in myself this belief that my clients are coming, you know, and then you get out of the shower and you moisturize. You're, like, cool. And I'm really calling my power, and I am making myself like a super attractor for everything that I want, you know? And with each little, like, pump of lotion, you're like, I am attracting money and I'm attracting clients, and I'm attracting, like, a better job with nicer people where it's not so fucking toxic, you know, it could be. It could be a practice that you do already as well. I don't. I don't know what your skincare routine is, so I can't. I can't tell you based on that. But it could be, like, how you pour Your water in the morning. I mean, you could literally make a jar and label it. You know, money and. And clients and a better job, and just put tape on it and write that stuff on and fill it up in the morning and then jug it. Chug it. Not jug it. It's a jug. You chug the jug. That's what I mean. Yes. But then you're hydrated. So then when you have to be 20 minutes later, you're like, awesome. It's working, you know?
Okay.
What we want to do is we want to give ourselves a manifestation practice that is doable within our day that also calls our attention back to it throughout the day. Right. So, like, there, whether it's, wow, my skin's really soft, or, yeah, I have this braid that I can play with in my hair, or it could be a necklace that you wear. It's something that you fiddle with, but it brings you back to, oh, that's right. I did that this morning. And I'm calling it sand. And here's evidence that it's working. Right. Because our brains, when we're focusing on one thing, tends to look for evidence that's available for us. Right. Just like when you decide, I want to. I want to buy a yellow Jeep. All right. I'm thinking about it. I really want a yellow Jeep. And you start seeing yellow jeeps everywhere. They were always there. Right. Your brain is just. It's. Click that switch. Look for yellow Jeeps. Because any yellow Jeep we see could be an opportunity to acquire a yellow Jeep. Right. Like, every time you have to pee that day, you're gonna be like, yep, I'm manifesting. Right.
Okay.
So. So as I say this, like, what feels attainable for you, what feels like something that you'd be excited to build into your day?
I think the. The dry brushing was the one that stood out as, like, something because I. I need to calm my nervous system down. That's. That's one of the things that when I'm in stress, I don't think clearly, I don't function.
Yeah.
So if that can help with that. And I. And really, for me, like, I. I feel like if it's small enough that I can do it every day and it's something that I can track like this. Because this posting challenge really worked for me because of the schedule. So I. I could maybe build that out.
Yeah.
You know, like a little schedule for myself to say, I'm gonna do this every day. And that. That I think seems attainable. Yeah. So that I. I think that that okay, cool.
And think about it. It doesn't have to happen the same time every day. You know, you make a rule for yourself that it has to happen every 24 hours. So maybe you do it before bed.
Right.
You know, maybe you do it first thing in the morning after you shower or before you shower and after you shower. Whatever. You know, one of the things that I would recommend also, if you're gonna do that. I know it sounds silly, but to hum while you're doing it. Right. Because you're. You're doing everything with your body. The vagus nerve is stimulated by humming. Even if you're just humming a flat note. And your vagus nerve, like, once your vagus nerve gets activated, it does help bring your anxiety down. It helps you ground.
Yeah. I like the idea of getting something tangible, physical, because, like. Like you said, like, I don't have the hair thing, but. And I. I don't think I have anything like that right now. That's always with me. So that could be something interesting that I could look for.
Yeah.
That fits. You know, feels. Feels natural to me. But that would be something that could bring me back to this over and over again throughout the day. Because I. I don't have anything like that right now.
Yeah. Yeah. Just want to build onto that. So whatever that is, you know, once you do it, the next step is what are three things that would make a huge difference for me to get that today. Right. It could be making a phone call. It could be posting something. It could be things you already had on your to do list. But it reinforces I'm doing everything I can. Right, Right. It could be showing up to this call if it's a Friday.
Yeah.
You know, what are the three things I'm doing to make this easier, you know, in happening?
Okay, That's good. Yeah, I can do that.
Yeah. So. So anytime we have a big goal, like, we just need to think through, this is. This is how I kind of, like, look at what people's business goals are. And then I just kind of break it down in a much smaller sense. You know, what's the. What's the minute action you can do right now or today or tomorrow? That'll help you get there. Right. And. And it's all an iterative process. So if you start doing this, Jason, you're like, I don't like that at all. You can change it. Right. It's not a commitment.
Yeah.
You know, you could literally change it to taking a golf ball and rolling out the bottom of your feet, which is Painful, but, oh, my God, is it impactful if you're. If you're. The muscles in your feet are tight, your whole body's tight.
Cool. I like that.
Yeah. Okay, any final questions? How are we feeling?
Better.
Better.
Yeah.
Cool. Monica.
I also don't have long hair, so I'm just trying to think of, like.
What I would use.
I mean, any. Any self care that, like, you can take something that you already do, but I find it's. It's easier to add something that feels different and. And novel.
Okay.
To your routine. So, like, people drying your hair. It could be putting mousse in your hair. It could be, like, I don't know, if you wear eyeshadow or some kind of makeup throughout the tell through zoom. You know, it could be some kind of jewelry that you put on. You know, you could honestly, like, make a. Like a fresh friendship bracelet every day if you want to. Just, like a little braid, you know, that would be kind of fun.
That would be kind of fun. I used to craft morning.
Yeah, yeah, Yeah. And also, like, what a cool mindfulness practice. I might actually start doing that. But a cool little mindfulness practice, and then you have something tangible that shows you every single day. This is what I did. I don't know. Like, there's just so many things you could do, like sit down later today or this weekend and come up with, like, a gazillion different ideas. It's a very specific number. And just start playing with them. There's no right answer here. Right? The right answer is something that's novel to you, that doesn't take too much time. Right. That you can easily build into your day and that will call attention back to it throughout the day or in some way, shape or form. Kind of like giving yourself a totem.
Cool. Maybe I need to go buy a crystal.
Big fan, Al. If you got a crystal ball, cover it when you leave your home. Because it can set fire to your home. I love that. Oh, because like, spirits, ghosts. No, it'll, like the sun if it hits it. Wonky. It can become a magnifying glass. And you know how, like, kids burn ants with magnifying glasses. Can happen to your home.
Whoa.
Okay. Yeah, Just be wary. Like, I started manifesting. My house burned down. I guess I'm manifesting a new home.
All right.
With all new stuff. No, we don't want that. Okay, cool. Let's do main takeaways. Who wants to go first?
I like that. When you were talking about how sometimes things need to break for you to be able to break through.
Yeah. Yeah. It's painful, but necessary sometimes. Thank you.
Same. I think that and. And the tangible plan for that we just talked about is something I'm excited about building in for. For the next month.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cool.
All right, everyone, have an amazing weekend. You know where to find me if you have any questions. And I can't wait to hear what your manifestation practice is going to be when you figure it out.
Thank you.
Bye. Have a good one.
