Katie McManus describes dream versions of real cities and invented European villages that feel completely real while dreaming. In one recurring dream, a tiny village has a Michelin-starred restaurant that never seats her, until recently a cancellation finally let her eat there.
What does the geography of your dreams look like? Because in my dreams I have cities like designed and they're always the same in my dreams, but they're not real places. Like my dream San Francisco is very different from the actual San Francisco. My dream New York, same. You know, there are parts of France and Italy that my dreams like have made up towns for. And it's so wild that every single time I have a dream about one of these places, it, it's in that same like dream made up geography. And last night I had a dream that like I'm so excited for because in my dream Italy, there's this like pass through little village and it's not even like a village, it's like three buildings off of a main road and there's this Michelin starred restaurant that every single time we've had a dream about this place, we've stopped by there. Whoever I'm with in the dream and they can't, they don't have space for us so they can't serve us any food. And like sometimes like they have space for us to stay but not to feed us. But last night, last night in my dream I stopped by and they had a cancellation and I was able to have dinner there for the first time in years. I've been dreaming about this place for literal years. I'm not even sure how to really interpret that. But anyway, I'm curious. Do you, do you other folks on the interwebs also have like the same geography that you visit in your dreams over and over and over again? And does it, does it match up to reality or is it your own unique, you know, like map that you follow or am I special? Probably not special. This probably happens to everyone. But whatever this is for you. Please, I'm serious. Tell me in the comments because I want to know.
