Short personal monologue describing a childhood memory of a frightening porcelain doll whose eyes closed when laid down, and a present-day experience having a photoshoot with makeup and false eyelashes that made the speaker feel special and like a porcelain doll.
Like, the epitome of beautiful toys. And I begged my mom, begged my mom to get me one. And so she did. And Christmas Day opened up, and I was super, super excited, and I took it out of the box and noticed this feature that porcelain dolls have, or at least back, like in the 90s, where when you laid them down, their eyes closed, but when you, like, tilt them back up, they opened, and it freaked me the out. And that doll went to the back of my closet and lived there until we moved across the country. And then I threw it out. Um, it scared the shit out of me. But anyway, I went and got a photo shoot done today, and I had my makeup done, and she put fake eyelashes on me, and I feel like I'm a porcelain doll. It's just. But guys, like, this. This is. This is really nice. Like, this makes such a huge difference. I, like, I can't help but just look at myself because it's like, oh, my God, I have eyelashes. I never have eyelashes. But, yeah, like, I don't. I don't think I could do this on my own. Like, I would probably end up with, like, the eyelash, like, up here and like, hey, guys. But, yeah, I might have to invest some time in figuring out how to do this.
