This is a great question when it comes to getting corporate clients for your coaching or consulting business. Today I shared some tips of some pitfalls that you may run into when you're trying to land one of these deals. I talked mostly about the things that happen when you're already in conversation, you've done the sales call, and you're really just trying to get ink on the paper and money in the bank. And that's really important to know, right? Because once you're in those conversations, you want it to go somewhere. However, how do you get there to begin with? There are a few things that I always recommend for one, your professional network. Okay. If you're an individual who's doing consulting or coaching, chances are you've worked in corporate for a while in a 9 to 5 job capacity. So it's going to be really important for you to go on kind of a marketing campaign to your existing network and tell them how you're useful to them. Now, this is a big part of what I have my clients do when they're first starting out. And it's so important because everyone and their mother and their mother's best friend should know what you do so that they can either talk you up to people who can hire you or hire you themselves. Number two, if you don't have a lot of people in your network who are these kinds of folks, then you need to get out there. You need to go and network. Okay? There are so many virtual networking groups that you can join. A lot of them popped off during the pandemic and they've kind of stuck around. But there's nothing better than getting some face time with some of these folks. So figure out what industry you're in and go to events, go and rub elbows with people and introduce yourself. The key with this is you have to have a really solid elevator pitch. Okay, so. Get them, go, oh, my God, we have that problem. We absolutely need to bring someone like you in. All right? If you don't have that, they're just going to go, oh, how nice. And then they're going to walk away because it's not interesting to them. Another thing you can do is you can go to different industry events and you can pitch yourself as a speaker. This is something that I have a lot of my clients do, especially if they're trying to get in front of. Or through their network. Because if you're a speaker, even if you're doing like a small workshop in a $20,000 event where only 100 people show up, Someone who is going to need to make that buying decision who can introduce you in and it's going to be really important for you to frame up your talk in a way that builds up compassion for the problem that they're in and, and understanding and also showcases you as the go to expert without giving all of your tips and tricks away for free. And lastly, one of my favorite places to from LinkedIn. Each year it goes up, it goes down the cool thing. You are going to get the attention of your ideal clients if you're sharing the right kind of content. And again, this is all stuff that I train my clients on. And lastly, you need to have a solid sales structure. Okay? So you need to have. Figure out how to book with you, go and book on your calendar. You need to have a solid proposal template. Something that like really does build up the case for why they need to hire you after they've had that conversation. Because you know, like a sales conversation, people are going to like feel really excited about buying from you in the moment, but then it kind of peters after a while. Like if you've ever, if you've ever gone to a gym and toured it and be like, yeah, I really want to join, but let me think about it, you get less and less, less excited as time goes on. It's the same if you're buying for a company. So you want to have a proposal set up that like keeps those, those feelings and those desires and those problems like relevant for the person, especially if they're having to trot it around to different people on their board or leadership team. And you need to have everything else built to start talking to you about hiring you. Oh and hi, I help ADHD business owners make more money in less time with fewer distractions because by helping you discover your profitable niche, design an offer that they are starving to buy. And I train you how to market and sell your services. Like and follow.
