Katie McManus (speaker/creator) describes emailing Jim Sinegal, former CEO of Costco, to invite him onto her podcast. She frames the request humorously through her "hot dog" personal brand—originating from a joke LinkedIn tagline—and asks viewers to share the message with anyone who might reach Sinegal. She notes she emailed an old Costco address, didn’t get an auto-reply, and hopes he or an assistant will see it.

I just did a thing. I just emailed the former CEO of Costco asking him if he'd be on my podcast. So if you don't know him, Jim Senegal is like a legend in the hot dog community, which is the most ridiculous sentence that has ever come out of my mouth. What's even more ridiculous is that I'm part of the hot dog community now. So, yeah, about three years ago, as a joke, I changed my LinkedIn tagline to say, stop being a weenie and start your business already. Well, the joke is on me because it stuck. People really responded to it, and it has evolved into my brand, which is why I have the hot dogs everywhere. And, you know, I have fun with it. I will dress up like a hot dog from time to time and create content. And what's really funny is that people will send me just random videos or memes or gifs that have to do with hot dogs or weenies or wieners. Thankfully, it's all pretty peachy and I regularly get little clips or memes of Jim Senegal because he was so die hard about not raising the price of the Costco hot dog. It has literally been a dollar and fifty cents for decades. So, anyway, so I emailed his old Costco email, which I found on the interwebs. He's retired, so I don't even know if it's going to work. I didn't get an auto response, so I assume it went through and I just fingers crossed that he just checks his email or has someone checking it and he sees what I sent. But as a backup, if anyone here happens to know Jim Sinegal and you are willing to show him this and tell him to check his email, the subject line is odd request, fellow hot dog enthusiast. Oh my God, it would be so epic. Like, my. My vision is that we get on and we act as though like we're on to talk about hot dogs. And then we kind of like, he's like, oh, well, what's this podcast about hot dogs? And I'm like, no, it's actually about business. Do you know any business? And then it's a funny question because, you know, he's massively successful in business. So please, like, follow share. Let's get this in front of people who know him, pretty please. Thank you.
