Myth: you have to create super sales content in order to get clients

Katie McManus shows how to attract clients without pushy sales tactics. Use your clients' own language, share anonymized stories from your work, and end with a soft call-to-action like booking a call. Skip the bragging and overpromising.

You do know that you can get high paying clients without creating super salesy content, right? Hi, I'm Katie, your practical business coach. And I help new business owners leave their corporate 9 to 5, replace their 6 figure salary by selling their expertise. And if you absolutely hate the idea of creating super salesy content, like the idea of doing it makes you think that you're going to be like the oxiclean guy who's like, hey, do you have stains? Listen up, you do not have to be that. And this is a big fear that a lot of my clients have because they've never done sales before. And here they are starting a business and they realize, oh my God, to have a business I need to have clients. And to have clients I actually have to like do sales and I have to market myself. And so the a few fears that they have is a, that I'm gonna have to go and create content where I'm bragging about myself and talking about how cool I am. No, you don't have to do that. Um, they also fear that they have to go and like make guarantees that they know that they cannot make about their work. And again, you do not have to do that. Um, you also don't have to be the oxiclean. Like, do you have this thing? No. What you have to do is you have to empathize with your clients. And typically I work with people who have a very high emotional intelligence. The ability to empathize with what their clients are going through is one of their superpowers. And really the key to being able to empathize with your ideal clients in your content. So that when they see your content, they're like, oh my God, is she talking to me? That sounds like me. Yeah, I have that. Oh my God, that's going on for me too, is honestly, honestly to speak to them in the words that they use to describe their own problems. And you can do this by talking about the clients that you work with anonymously. Of course, you can share personal stories about how you used to be in that position as well. And at the end you don't have to do a hard sell. You can just say, hey, listen, if this is going on for you, know that you're not stuck here. Know that there is a solution, there is a way out. And if you're curious about how I might be able to help you with that, then just book a call with me and then you give them instructions as to how they can book a call with you. The energy that you have with your content should be as if you're sitting down with one of your best friends and they're explaining to you, oh my God, I have this problem. You're like, whoa, bestie. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. You know I help people with that, right? It's not gross, it's not salesy. It's a genuine offer to another human being that you genuinely care about that if they're stuck with something, that you're happy to talk to them and see if you can help. And if you want to learn more about this, then every single fourth Friday of the month, I host a free group coaching call at 11am Eastern Time for new business owners who don't know how to market themselves, who don't know how to sell their services, who aren't sure how to package their services, and who also maybe have some garbage beliefs around money and about how much they can charge. If you want any help, this is absolutely, absolutely free to sign up for. Just go to the comments and comment Brave for Brave Biz Labs and I will DM you the link to sign up. I can't wait to see you there. Oh, and like and follow if you want more content like this.
