Redo- Day 2- Social to Sales 5 day Challenge

Katie McManus (business strategist and leadership coach) delivers Day 2 of a five-day "Social to Sales" challenge focused on turning social media activity into paying clients by building consistent visibility and practical habits. Core advice centers on three daily non-negotiables—tending to the body, tending to mind/spirit, and being visible daily—and on using a simple content planner (goals + topic-idea dump + scheduled posts) to create a sustainable posting rhythm (recommended minimum: three posts/week). The talk mixes mindset, practical scheduling advice, and encouragement to start posting this week; challenge logistics and a daily Q&A upgrade are also mentioned.
I can taste yo yo yo yo Words I can taste yo yo yo I can taste yo yo yo yo I can taste yo yo yo I can taste yo yo yo yo yo Y my hello. I'm Katie McManus, business strategist and leadership coach and I'm here again for day two of the social sales challenge. We're doing five days to show you how you can get actual living, breathing, high paying clients from social media. I'm doing this a second time today because thank goodness for the Q and A call that I offered for some people to upgrade to. I found out that apparently in minute 8 the sound like got super horribly and no one could understand what I was saying. So hopefully we're not having that problem again and if we are, please tell me in the comments. But anyway, I wanted to talk about what I was talking about earlier today is how to build consistency in showing up on social media. Okay. Because it is so easy to say, yeah, I'm going to post every day, yeah, I'm going to post three times a week, I'm going to do all this stuff. But if you don't prioritize it, you don't make a plan around it and if it is not a non negotiable, that's double negative. So it cannot be negotiable in your day or in your week. If it doesn't fulfill those things, you're not going to stick to it. Okay? You're just not. This is something that's new. It's scary, it's outside your comfort zone. There's fear of judgment. There is fear of doing the wrong thing and looking stupid. There is fear of failure, of wasting time. We don't want to need that, by the way. The only way to deal with all that is just to go and help them do it already. So we're going to talk about non negotiables this evening. Okay? So I don't know how much I talk about this. So for my one on one clients and really anyone who's in any of my programs, I have three non negotiables that they have to commit to every single damn day. The first one is they have to tend to their bodies. These like flesh packets that we're in, they have to take care of their bodies. Because here's the thing, if you're building a business, you're building a business and you're wanting to grow it and you're wanting to show up every day, you're wanting this to be your work, that you make real money out of that is only doable if your body is up to the task. It doesn't matter if you have an intellectual offering. If you do hard labor, you still need your body on board. Okay? Obviously, if the work that you do is being like a professional athlete for the NFL versus being a business coach, the requirements from that body are going to be different, right? I'm not training like an NFL athlete. Barely. But you do have to take care of your body, okay? So when you get sick, when you get injured, too tired, if you're hangry, all those things do not support you being the best version of you and run this business, okay? So that's non negotiable, number one. Non negotiable. Number two is you have to take care of your mind and your spirit, okay? For some people, they are interlinked. For other people they're separate things as maybe two things. You cannot pour anything out of an empty cup. So you have to spend time every single day filling up your cups. I don't care if this means like tonight time in nature, you could double it up with tending to your body and like go for a nice long walk in the woods if that's what does it for you. This could be your religious practice. If you're a religious human being, it could be your spiritual practice. If you're a spiritual human being, it could literally be you standing in your backyard smashing old China because you need to like get some anger out. I don't care. But you have to tend to that part of you, okay? Because you're not going to be any good to anyone. You're not going to be inspiring, you're not going to be interesting. You're not going to be able to have the brain space to create content if you're not doing that. And lastly, the content that you know, where I'm going with this number three is you have to be visible every damn day. You have to be visible in your business. This does not mean that you need to post every day. This does not mean that you have to like get up on a stage every day and announce what you're up to. Okay? It does mean that you have to have conversations with people in any way, shape or form about what it is that you're up to every single day. Now this can look like posting to social media. This can also look like showing up in a networking event, either virtual or in person, and introducing yourself as the person who does the work that you do. This can also look like calling up an old friend that you haven't talked to in a really long time and just giving them an update as to what you're up to now. Okay. It doesn't have to be like this big markety social media push thing. You could just be telling someone, just building awareness. Because, baby, you cannot be a secret and a success at the same time. They don't go hand in hand. There is this myth, I call it a myth because there's this book in the coaching world called the Prosperous Coach. And there are parts of it that I really like, parts of it that I really like. But in there there's this anecdote about this one coach who was like a Navy SEAL and has lots and lots of really rich friends. Like he's in the right like network and he has like this secret gold card that gets passed for him to see it. And he doesn't have social media and he doesn't do that. People pass around this card and he books like $50,000 clients all the time. Can you see my problem with this? For that individual, maybe, yes, that does work for him by virtue of his background, by virtue of how he spends his days, by virtue of the people he's already naturally spend spending time with, by virtue of the type of work that he does. Right. I think his whole thing is like coaching youth for doing like climbing Everest or something. That is not the rest of us, okay? We're not all working with millionaires and billionaires. A lot of us are working with like normal middle class people. And they are not waiting for a secret card to begin. They are too fucking busy. They are too fucking busy. But you know what they are not busy for? Too busy for. They're not too busy to like open up Facebook and check out what's going on there. They're not too busy for Instagram to check out all the things that are happening for their people. Oh, that's my new. That I did. They're not too busy to go to LinkedIn to look for new opportunities. They are looking for solutions to real world problems. They are looking for people who understand struggles that they are going through in their life circumstances. You can help them in some way. You can help them now. Are they going to be able to access your help if you're not consistently showing up on social media, in networking groups, to your friends, to your family and just letting people know that, hey, hi, I exist over here and right now this is the work that I do to help these kinds of people do this kind of thing. No, they're not going to be able to hire you. They're not going to be able to access this amazing gift that you offer. So showing up every day by being visible every day, that has to be a non negotiable for you. Okay? There's no ifs, ands or buts about it. Okay? If you're too busy to post on social media, great. When you're driving to the grocery store, call a friend and talk about your business for a minute. That counts. My book. Okay? We don't have to set these like amazingly high expectations, you know, here's what happens, right? So I don't know if anyone else has ever set like a fitness goal for New Year's resolution. So you set this goal that you're gonna, you're gonna go to the gym every single day after work, right? And you maybe get like a week and a half in and you're there and like there's this like new your energy and it's carrying you along and you're really excited for it and you're just like, yeah, I'm going to be super hot and super fit. But a week and a half goes by and like you had to work late. You had to work late. You didn't really sleep well the night before and you ate something like really heavy at lunch because you're kind of stressed out about this project that your boss handed down a week ago. And so you get off work and you're like not feeling great, you're tired. Just think about like how nice it would be to go home and just put sweatpants on and maybe just watch a show and then go to bed early. And so that's what you do the next day. You're well rested and everything. Go to work, you finish work and you think you're going to the gym but you don't want to because you failed already. You didn't go the day. So now this place that you had a really good run going on is tainted with failure. He failed for one day. And so you don't go that day, don't go the next day, don't go to the next day. And then what's the age old joke by April you don't even remember who Jim was. Right? I love telling corny jokes myself. Anyway, the point here is when you're making a plan to show up on social media, it needs to be a plan that you will actually be able to see through to the end. We don't want any of this. Oh well, I said I was going to do it every day and then I failed and then I just Felt bad and like, you know, I avoided it for three weeks. That doesn't serve anyone. Doesn't serve your clients, it doesn't serve your audience, it doesn't serve you. That's one of the best ways to kill your own confidence is to become someone that you cannot trust to follow through on what you say you'll do. That is the number one way to kill your confidence. We're not about that. So if you're in the challenge, one of the things that you got today was this little social media content planner. And how this works is basically you start off with your goals, okay? Because we have to reverse engineer everything from our goals, right? So your goals and any events that you need to promote throughout the week, you list them all right here. Then over here we're going to do a topic idea dump and you're going to list all the topics and ideas for posts over here, okay? And we're gonna blend them. Okay? So say on your goals list you want three new client calls, right? So you want three new sales calls. Let's say one of the things over here was testimonials. You know, you had a couple clients finish up with you and they sent you really amazing testimonials. So if your goal is to get three new client sales calls, you're going to blend it with the testimonials. And every year you're going to write testimonial post, invite people to be my client, and then you're going to plan what day you're going to post that on. Now you're also in the topic dump. You're going to like put stuff about your dog, you're going to put stuff about your weekend, your childhood, your ideal clients. Like, everything goes there. The get to the know me stuff and the business stuff. And you're just going to plot it out. Now you don't have to post every day. People will tell you you do. You don't. But you should post three times a week at least. But you need to, you need to plan it if you can't trust yourself to it that way. Okay? And I'll be honest, you have to give yourself a little more time than you anticipate. Because I don't know if anyone has ever tried to paint like a room in their house. I have, many times. I've a big DIY person. I always think it's just gonna take an afternoon. I always assume it is. But then it's like it takes two hours to tape everything. And then you start painting. You're like, oh, My God, the walls are so dry. They're just. They're just sucking in this paint. This paint's really expensive. I need to go get primer. So then an hour and a half later, you've gone back to the paint store, you've gotten some primer, you're back, you're priming everything. You know, it's taking forever. You just wait for it to dry, and then you're able to paint. By the time you're done, it's like three days later. Okay? That's not how it's gonna go. Okay? But give yourself a couple hours. Give yourself a couple hours. Don't try to squeeze it into your lunch break. Don't try to do it while you're also answering emails. Really plan time. Because if you want to get paid clients from social media, it's going to take some effort on your part. Okay? But let me tell you, it takes less and less effort before you do it. Okay? I don't know, like, the first time I ever baked a cake right? And following the instructions, it took so much attention and double checking and I got it wrong a couple times. You know, if I'm doing it from scratch, it took so much time. But over time, I got better. Over time, I kind of learned my flow. I learned, like, how I need to set up, like, all the ingredients first. So I need the measuring cups out and I need to, like, have things grouped out in a way that works for me. I need the right timers and everything. It's not going to take forever. Forever, right? It'll. It'll get faster the more you to it, but you need to start doing it, okay? So this chat, this, this plan starts on Monday, okay? Today is Sunday. You aren't checking. Tomorrow's Monday. So posting starts this week. You are posting a social media, my friend, okay? And you're posting about yourself. You're posting about your business this week. If you haven't been posting, I don't give a damn what you post about. You can post pictures of ferrets. Hi, Andrew. Welcome. How's it going? You could post pictures of ferrets and I will be proud of you. Whatever is that stretch for you? If you're already posting every day, then I want you doing something that's a stretch for you. I want you posting a video or going live. You said something that will stretch you, okay? But whatever you do, you have to get out there. Like I said, you cannot be a secret. At the same time, for people to hire you, they have to know about you. They can't know about you if you keep yourself yourself all the time. Anyway, that is my second one of Day two Social Sales five day Challenge. If you watch those, you'll probably realize that these are not scripted ever. I just kind of like come up with it as I go. So this is a very different talk from my earlier one. I don't know what I said in the first eight minutes where the audio was still functional. So I don't know if there's something there that you also want to watch that might be useful. Anyway, if you're in the challenge, I hope you're having a great time. I hope you're learning lots. We're going to be tomorrow with really exciting how to do calls to action, really into it anyway. And if you have any questions, there's still time to upgrade into the Q and A section. That is at 3pm every day of the challenge for about 30 minutes. Anyway, I'm Katie McManus, business graduates and leadership coach Andrew, thank you for joining. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Sunday and I will see you.
