Repeat after me

A speaker breaks down why people project insecurity onto others and how it stems from feeling "not enough." Stop measuring yourself against people on social media or in your life who make you feel small. Your worth isn't determined by comparison.
I want you to listen to me. You are enough just the way you are. You are smart enough, you are funny enough, you are charming enough, you are tall enough, you are short enough, you are thin enough. You are all the things enough. And you probably don't believe me on all of that because there's probably a person in your life who's treated you like you're not enough. And I have something to tell you about that person. They do not know what it feels like to be enough because they can never feel enough because they have what I call not enoughness. And the thing about not enoughness is it has to create more not enoughness in other people, okay? Because someone who feels like they are not enough just the way they are, like, that is such a terrifying concept, right? So they have to lash out at certain people to make them feel like they're not enough. And you might be thinking like, well, if I don't think I'm enough, like, I don't think I'm that bad of a person. I don't think I'm making other people feel bad. Well, let me ask you something. Do you ever fantasize about being super successful and, like, showing up people who are rude to you in high school, or getting all dolled up and posting a picture on Instagram and kind of sort of hoping that your ex is gonna see that picture and think, damn, I regret that ending? Yeah, all that is low key not enoughness. Trying to create more not enoughness. And I say this, I do this too. Like this, when my not enoughness gets flared, gets activated by someone else who's made me feel like I'm not enough, that's. That's the stuff that starts spinning in my head. And it's not necessarily something to be proud of, but it's also not something that diminishes how enough you are. And the thing about these relationships with these not enough people, the people who do not have a concept of how they will ever be enough, you know, and the relationship that they have with you is they constantly make you. You feel like you're not enough, you are never going to change their mind. And that's because they have no concept of what enough is, right? So even if you got to the point where you were enough for them, it's. It's almost like they're an English teacher that doesn't speak English, right? And so you can submit the most perfect, well worded, well researched, with absolute impeccable grammar paper to them, and they're not going to be able to read it. And when they get that paper, when they see that you are rising above and you're being enough and you've delivered all this, what's going to ultimately happen is it's going to trigger their not enoughness. It is going to activate them, and that's when they cut you down. And I want you to remember that enoughness is not measured by other people. Enoughness only gets measured in here. And if there are people in your life who make you feel like you're not enough, it's probably time to start questioning if they actually belong in your life. Because no one, no one in your life deserves to make you feel like you're not enough. Deal?
