This chunk is from a YouTube video by Katie McManus (Sign #3). She coins "mindset mania" as the tendency to over-invest in mindset work (journaling, manifesting) while neglecting practical skills and actions needed to run a business (selling, social media marketing). She argues mindset matters but is insufficient without concrete skills and execution.

The third sign that you're being driven by your saboteur in your business is what I like to call mindset mania. We get so wrapped up in doing mindset work to help us be in a success mindset so that we can go and be successful in our businesses that we jump over the fact that we don't know how to do a lot of shit. Doesn't matter what your mindset is. If you don't know how to sell something, you're not going to sell it. It doesn't matter what your mindset is. If you don't understand how to use social media to market your services like you're not going to be effective going on social media, marketing your services, working on your mindset only in your business is kind of like those people who are like quote unquote manifesting their dreams, but all they're doing is sitting in their room journaling about all the things that they want but not actually taking action to make them happen. Yes, mindset is absolutely important, but it's not the only thing that's important.
