Stop worrying about being perfect and just go and start your business already!!! ##adhdbusinessowner

Katie McManus tells ADHD business owners to stop waiting for everything to be perfect before launching. She uses a car-manufacturing analogy to show how iteration works, then pushes you to create, launch, sell, get feedback, and repeat.

If you have ADHD and you're a business owner, then I want you to listen up. Because if you're holding back on launching a new thing, on putting yourself out there, on offering a new service, and you're waiting to figure it out so you can do it perfectly, I want to call bullshit, okay? There's no such thing as perfect, all right? The first car that got launched, it's not like they launched it, sold it and like, cool, we have a motor vehicle. Okay, there we go. Good enough. No, they had to iterate, they had to make it safer, they had to make it faster, they had to make it warmer or cooler depending on the CL climate, okay? To this day, it's not like they're creating cars and be like, that is just the perfect car ever. No, they're constantly iterating, right? And what's a perfect car to one person is the worst car to another person, okay? As someone who has a large dog, who tends to keep a lot of junk in the trunk and not metaphorically, literally, I have a lot of shit in my car and who likes having beverages. I a need a large car that has seats that, you know, can get scratched up and it won't ruin the car. I need a big trunk for all the weird stuff that I collect throughout my life and I need a lot of cup holders, okay? I probably don't need a sports car, okay? Sports car is going to be miserable for me. It's not going to fit my lifestyle. I want to knock something over, okay? Your services, they do not need to be perfect the first time you launch them, okay? There was still a market for people to buy the first car that launched, all right? People still bought it because it was the thing that they wanted. It was the thing that they needed, all right? The car manufacturers got to listen to them and iterate as they went, all right? And even to this day, you know, you, you could be in business for 20, 30, 40 years and still be iterating to make it better for your ideal clients. And what you iterate to be better for your ideal clients is always going to be something that would be absolutely not, not a fit for a bunch of other people. And that is okay, all right? So whatever part of your brain is telling you that you need to figure it all out and it needs to be perfect and you need to, you know, understand exactly how it's going to land in the market. No, no, you do not. You just need to create and launch and sell and then create and launch and sell and then listen to the feedback and then recreate and launch and sell. Okay. Building a business is an iterative process just like manufacturing cars. I'm not a car person, so I'm not going to give any examples here, but I am a business person. I am a business building person and I know that the only way to get started is to go and do and then go and do it again. All right, so this is your sign to let go of the perfectionism around designing your offer and how to sell it and all that stuff and just go and do it already. And if you need help, hi. I help ADHD business owners make more money in less time with your distractions by showing you how to discover your profitable niche. Design an offer that they are starving to buy. I teach you how to market and sell your services without wanting to vomit. All without a cookie cutter, one size fits all method because you need something that's custom to how your brain works. I'm Katie McManus, business strategist and money mindset coach like and follow for more tips like this.
