Hello, I'm Katie McManus, business strategist, Money mindset coach. Good evening, everyone. Today is Tuesday, December 20th. In the month that I said I was going to go live every day, I have failed to do so in some respects. And I'm going to explain why, but I'm still going because that's what we do when we commit to something. We stick with it, even if we slip and mess it up a little bit along the way. All right? Because that's what grit is. Okay, so I am going live to LinkedIn, to the Facebooks, to YouTube, to Twitter and Instagram. So I'm doing this Facebook fancy setup where I have my phone balanced against my laptop. It's very impressive, guys. I know. And stream yard. Hello, people, can we please get on integrating Instagram into Streamyard so I don't have to do this, please? And thank you so much. So tonight's tonight's topic. I want to talk about my ass now. Okay? If you've read the description of this, you're gonna understand what I mean. So if you don't know if haven't been tracking my life, which how dare you not track my life. I slipped and fell in the stairs in the beginning of September. I fell down on my butt, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Right on my tailbone. And couldn't sit down for a whole week. I was in so much pain for that first week of September. I think I even had to cancel some, some calls and everything. Hi, Jordan Bellotti. Great to see you here. Welcome. So I don't recommend falling on your ass down the stairs, but here's what I'm learning from it. So just I know people have questions usually. So it's a bruised tailbone, it's not broken. Got the X rays, everything and bruised tailbones apparently just take like six months to, to recover. So here's where I'm at right now. And if you've ever been injured, this is going to sound very, very familiar to you. I'm at the point where I'm just wondering, is this my life now? Is this my life that I'm constantly going to have to walk around with a donut shaped butt pillow. I'll just tell you guys, like going on a date, a first date, a second date, whatever kind of date with a donate. Donut shaped butt pillow is not the look. It's not the look. And while yes, I have figured out a way to loop it through my fanny pack strap that I use like kind of cross body so it looks like I have like A Ninja Turtle pack on the. On my body. It's not the look. Okay, let me see. Pete, Food brings people together on many different levels. It's nourishment of the soul and the body. Oh, yes, great quote. But anyway, so it's not the look. So. So there's this thing that happens when you're injured. And this happened when I sprained my ankle. This happened when I had a concussion. And this happens for different people when they're in chronic illness, when they're trying new medications and they're not working, or when they're injured, that whatever's going along with that, like, gross side effects, feeling too tired, hurting. You just start believing that this is your life now and that nothing's going to change because you are so in the experience of being uncomfortable, of having your abilities limited by whatever it is that happened. Oh, my God. Kristen. I fell Sunday night, and I just told my best friend that pain is stupidity leaving the body. Oh, my God. So, so much stupidity left my body then. Thank you for that. You fell on a cat toy? Well, you know, let's blame the cat. That's not very nice of them to leave their toys around. My wife used one of those pillows right after her son was born for a week. She loved it, but, yeah, not a good look for a date. Lol. Yeah. At that point, like, she's already had a kid with you. Okay. She's gotten some commitment on a first or second date. They haven't committed yet. Was about to make the dating joke, but it turns out it's actually your life. Thanks. Thanks, David. Yeah. Let's. Let's not joke so much about my life. No, just kidding. It's. It's free. It's, you know, open season on my whole life. It's all good. But anyway, so where was I gonna go with this? Oh. So when you're in it, when you're in this pain, when you're feeling like your abilities are limited, when your cognition isn't what it used to be, your memory isn't what it used to be. That was what drove me crazy about. My concussion is just like, I. I didn't feel like I had the same mental capacity for a while. You start believing that this is your forever, that this is never going away, that this is your life. And I'm going to bring this into a business metaphor. This happens in your business, too, okay? We all have slumps. Okay? We all have, like, a few weeks or a few months where you don't get any new clients or you have Some weird things happen. You're just like, oh, God, this is awful. Is this my business now? And I just want to remind you, they don't last. Okay? Thank God. I've been injured before and I know how this goes, and I. I know to set up doctor's appointments and see if I can get some, like, stero shots in my butt to make sure that it doesn't hurt as badly. But in your business, it feels like it's forever. It feels like, okay, I've crashed and burned and nothing is happening and I'm doing all the same things and it's just broken and I'm not going to be able to pull it out. And I just want to remind you. Yes, you can. Yes, you can. We live in a world where most of the factors that affect our businesses are completely out of our control. What we can control, however, is showing up. We can control showing up and showing up today and showing up tomorrow and showing up the next day and being here and being present and being invested. Okay, let me see. I have LinkedIn user. Are you in pain when you're standing? If you are doomed to be a stander forever, it's got a silver lining because sitting will kill you. Well, it doesn't hurt when I stand. So, yeah, maybe, maybe this is not a bad life. Maybe I'm going to be very healthy. But I still really enjoy sitting down. I'm like, it's funny, you know how when you have a cold and you never before appreciated just how much you appreciated being able to breathe through both your nostrils and then you get a cold and you're like, all I want in the world is to be able to breathe through my nostrils and lay down and go to sleep. Breathing through my nostrils. Well, let me tell you, when you have a hard time sitting, you realize just how much you love the activity of sitting on your own butt. Sitting on your own butt, as if you can sit on someone else's butt, you know, I mean, like, you just. I like. One of my favorite things now is sitting. And I'm never going to take it for granted again, I swear to God. So, anyway, the point of this live is I really, really want you to know that if you're in a season, in your business, in your body, in your relationships, whatever, where things are not going the way you want them to, and you're starting to believe that this is your forever. It is not. We go through seasons in our life, okay? Just like the world goes through seasons. This is one of the reasons I lived. I hate I hated living in California because there were no seasons. Okay? There is no marking of the passing of time. There is no reminder that things don't last. All right? I'm in Massachusetts right now and it's cold as fuck outside. And it's a beautiful reminder that, you know, just five months ago I was standing outside on Cape Cod dripping in sweat because it was so hot and humid. That didn't last. And this won't last. It will get warmer again and the sun will be out later. It'll be out as late as now again. And this too will pass. My butt hurting because I fell down the stairs will be a distant memory at some point. And whatever is going on in your business, whatever you're feeling stuck in, will also pass. Okay? This is not your forever. If you've been stuck in something for a while and you keep trying the same things, maybe ask for some help, maybe try to find a new way to do things. Could. That could be the jumpstart you need. Much like me going to the doctor and asking for some steroid shots. So. But yeah, let me see. Jordan Belotti. Usually when in hard. A hard season, if you hang out long enough, some. Something good will come along and pick things up. Yeah. I mean, fingers crossed. And yes, I fully believe in that. I'm just fingers crossing for my. My tailbone situation. Let me see. And then. And that's how it happens for you. Yeah. And I'm so happy that happens for you. And let's remember all the times that we struggled. Let's remember all the times that we felt like we were crashing and burning our own lives. Right. We all have our own stories that go along that narrative. I don't know about you, but for 97% of the people that I know, like, the crashing and burning of one life actually leads to a far better place. Like a far better place that you couldn't even imagine from that place that you're in at your lowest. Right. This is one of the reasons why I tell my clients, like, you can't plan your success in your business. There's just no way. Right? Because you can absolutely plan how you want your success to go, but usually it happens in a completely ass backwards, sideways way that you can never predict. And it's usually so much better than what you had planned on. Right? So, yeah, if you're in a hard season right now, if you're in a season where you think, like, things are irreparable, they're fucked up beyond repair, I am never getting out of this. This Just sucks. Take a deep breath with me. Let it out and keep breathing through this and keep showing up. Okay? Deal. All right. With that, I'm gonna take my dog for a walk to get myself out of the house because here's the other fun thing about having a tailbone injury and then traveling to family's homes for the holidays is that their furniture may or may not be comfortable enough to sit on. So you. So I've been literally sitting on my bed in my room here all day, and I'm going nuts in this room. Anyway, to Jordan Velotti. Let me see. LinkedIn user who. I'm not sure who you are. Your privacy settings are limiting. David Fryman, Kristen Nikolai, Pete Morris. Thank you, everyone for watching. I hope this has been an inspiration to move beyond whatever season you're in and also reassuring that you're fine. Whatever, whatever slump or hardship you're going through right now, it's going to get better. And if you don't mind reminding me of that when I'm complaining about my butt in about a month, I will appreciate that. Anyway, love you all so much. Thank you for tuning in. I will be going live again every day this week and hopefully to the end of the year, depending. Oh, and that's. That was the other thing. So I had to. I had to drive seven hours on my butt on Saturday, and I was so stressed out about it on Friday that I could just completely forgot to go live Saturday. I was in so much pain. My plan was to go live on Saturday. And, you know, here's the beautiful thing about running your business and setting your own intentions is that if your body speaks up and is like, hey, no, we're not doing that, you get to let yourself off the hook. Okay. And then, of course, Sunday, I just had to recover. This is if you're ever thinking about starting a business. This is one of the reasons, is that freedom of flexibility that you get to do what you want. You get to take care of your body. You get to prioritize your body and your health over everything else. It's one of the greatest gifts that my company has given me. Oh, and Jordan, I guess I said your name correctly. I'm so glad. Thank you. I'm always. I'm always delighted when I do that. Oh, and hi, Sandy. You're just joining my Instagram Live as I'm about to. To tune out. Anyway, you can watch the replay. I'm gonna be saving this everywhere. And thank you, everyone. I'm Katie McManus, business strategist and money mindset, Coach. I will be going live with you again tomorrow and have a great night, everyone.
