Here are three things that you want to get specific about when you're starting your business so you can make the most money in the least amount of time. And believe me, it's not writing a business plan. And hi, I help ADHD business owners make more money in less time with fewer distractions by teaching you how to pick a profitable niche, design an offer that people actually want to buy, and how to market and sell your services without wanting to Vomit. I'm Katie McManus, business strategist and money mindset coach. So here's number one, you want to get specific about your client getting strategy as fast as possible. And usually this means picking which social media platform you're going to go all in on in that first year. Because believe me, if you try to do them all, you're going to burn out. Number two, you want to get really specific about your time. This means setting your hours for when you work in your business. This is especially important if you're starting a business as a side hustle while you're still working a full time job. Because your mind is going to tell you that every single spare minute you have outside of your 9 to 5 is meant to be working on your business. And that's so not true and it's super unhealthy. So treat it like a part time or if you're doing it full time, a full time job with hours and boundaries set around your personal life. Because you know that saying like I gave up my 9 to 5 so I could work 24 7. The only people who follow that are are doing it wrong because we start businesses so that the business can support us in our ideal lives. We don't start businesses that we can sacrifice our ideal lives to support the business. That doesn't make sense. But all that starts with you. You have to be super intentional about the time you're spending on your business. No one's going to police that for you. Number three is a part of picking your niche and is the most important part. You want to get specific about how you are useful to people and which people you are most useful to. And honestly, this is going to be how you introduce yourself all around. Because no one knows the difference between a life coach and an executive coach and a leadership coach, blah blah blah blah blah. And it's really hard to refer potential clients to you when you don't really understand what it is that you do. So instead of giving titles when you're introducing yourself or telling people what you do, you want to tell people first and foremost what's the problem that you solve and what's the outcome you help your clients get to? And who is your ideal client? So let me showcase the difference for you here, okay? So you can absolutely go around just saying that you're a dating coach. People might pause in the middle of the conversation and be like, who do I know who's bad at dating? But how do they refer them to you? It's kind of awkward. But if you're a dating coach who specifically helps, like lesbian divorcees who have children who want to find their next life partner and find someone who not only is the best partner for them, but who can be a good step parent to their children, the person you're talking to might not know someone who's your ideal client in that moment, but believe you me, the moment they meet someone who's a lesbian, who's divorced, who has children, who wants to find their true love, you're going to be the first person they talk about. And remember, the more specific you are, the more memorable you are. And as small businesses, we do not have a marketing problem, we have a memorability problem. So go ahead and tell me in the comments which area you need to get more specific in and like and follow if you want more content like this.
