It feels illegal to share this, but you do not need a website to start a business. And the people who design websites and build them for new businesses, of course they're going to tell you differently because they want your money, they want you to hire them to do your website. And I know better because if you're starting a coaching, consulting, copywriting, legal, any high level intellectual social media service based business, then I can guarantee you one thing and one thing only. You are not going to understand your ideal client until you're about six to 12 months into serving them. And any website you do before that point will be absolutely useless and you will have to trash it and start over. Which means any money you spend on that first website is just a complete waste. So here's what you can do instead. You're going to pick one social media platform and you are going to be super active there. You're going to talk about your work, you're going to talk about your ideal clients, you're going to share about yourself personally. You're going to let people get to know you. You're going to have to do this anyway if you want people to eventually go to your website. No one's going to actually just stumble and fall into your website, by the way. You're going to have to push them there. But from social media you're going to get your first few clients. Now in this social media platform you're going to have a link in bio, okay? In this link in bio you're going to either have your link to book a sales call with you or you're going to sign up for linktree. Okay? And in that link tree you're gonna have the link to book a call with you and maybe the link to download your PDF that gives more information about you. That PDF by the way, whenever someone says, oh, do you have a website? I just want more information. You're saying, you know what, I actually, it's still under construction. But you know what I do have is I have this PDF that I've put together, it has my bio, it has the types of clients that I work with, it has some testimonials, would that be helpful for you? And they're gonna be like, oh my God, yeah, that would be amazing. That's exactly what I want. But let me tell you, you can easily grow your business to six figures without a website. And when you are ready to make a website, I want you to remember this. Your website is not for you. It's not about you. It's for your ideal clients. It's about your ideal clients, okay? Cause what you want, when people show up to your website and they're looking it over, you want them to go, that's me. That's me, too. That's me, too. Oh, my God. I have all these problems, and I want all those things, and I am in the right place and I should hire this person because never ever in the history of the world has someone gone. They were on the lacrosse team in college. That's so cool. I have to hire them. It just doesn't happen that way. So start your business. Go get clients. Stop worrying about the website.
