Short YouTube video (spoken) by Katie McManus using a dog-fetch metaphor to teach new business owners—especially coaches—to stop marketing the service (e.g., 'coaching') and instead market the concrete problems or desired outcomes clients actually want. Includes a brief CTA offering a guide for creating high-ticket offers and a sign-off introducing Katie as a practical business coach who helps new business owners replace corporate income.

Okay, so my dog there, she acts like she wants to play fetch. She doesn't actually want to play fetch. She wants to have two balls in her mouth and run around and tempt you so that you chase her so that you can try to get the ball. And when you do get the ball, she will chase it, but just so she can have two balls in her mouth again so that she can run around you and torment you and just have something that she thinks that you want. Right, Luna? Right. Can I have the ball? See? Can I have the ball? Give it to me. Give it to me. I like to use this as a metaphor for new business owners who are trying to market their service but aren't getting any clients from it. Because I will bet you you are marketing what you think your clients want. You think your clients want to play fetch? They don't want to play fetch. They want to have two balls in their mouths and they want to run around and tempt you with it. And what does that mean? I see this all the time, especially with coaches who think that going out and talking about coaching is going to be the thing that gets their clients to come to them and be like, oh, my God, I need your help. Let me tell you, no one in the history of the world has ever signed up for coaching because they wanted coaching. People sign up for coaching because they have another problem, because there's something in their life that's causing them pain and they want a solution to it. Either that or there's something that they want more than anything that they know that coaching can help them get. So while you're trying to sell coaching, there are other coaches out there who are selling, here's the solution to this problem or here is the way that you get to this goal. And they're the ones who are getting the clients. So I hope you'll take this marketing lesson from Luna and me where to go and stop trying to market what you think your clients want and start marketing what they actually want. Right, Luna? Right. No, get back here. Give me that. Give me that. Oh, and I actually have a whole guide on how you can create a high ticket offer that actually sells. If you want to grab it, you can either go to the link and you know where or you can go to the comments and comment high ticket and I'll send it to you. Hi, I'm Katie McManus, your practical business coach.
