A short spoken monologue by Katie McManus (YouTube) that normalizes early struggles with social media and self-doubt, uses humor to reassure the audience (e.g., 'only sociopaths don't have doubt'), and frames the talk around (1) signs that one’s internal saboteur is controlling business choices and (2) steps to overcome those voices of doubt.
Lots of people are bad at social media when they first start out, because guess what? They've never done social media before, and they're figuring it out. There was a period of time in your life where you sucked at using a fork, but what happened? You practiced, and you got better. Hopefully, if you didn't, then, you know, I'm sorry for your your dry cleaner, who has to deal with all those stains. And I just want to normalize that. These voices of doubt, we all have them. I mean, the only people who don't have them are sociopaths. So congratulations, you're not a sociopath. I hope you get yourself a cupcake to celebrate. So I want to go over some signs that you're actually letting your saboteur or voice of doubt drive the bus in your business. And then I want to go through the steps that you need to take to overcome them.
