Every company has breakdowns in their revenue process. Sure thing. Deals slip into next quarter, competitors creep in and swipe deals away at the last minute. And deals getting single threaded that don't get to power. These are just a few examples of revenue leak, but there are a ton more and they're preventing your team from reaching their sales targets. So go to clary.com if you want to answer the most important question in your business. Are you going to meet beat or miss on revenue Foreign? What up everybody? Welcome to a special episode of Live Better Sell Better Podcast. This is your host Kevin Dorsey, AKA kd. And today we're actually having a recap. Let's be honest, not everyone's got time to go through every 45 minute episode. So we're bringing the best of the best into this episode. Only here. Live Better Sell a better podcast.
The Live Better advice. Well, I would say that you have to have a relationship with something greater than yourself. I think it's easy in sales because usually we have big egos, right? And if you're successful in sales, you know, even when we try to like, act like we have some humility, we still inside, we still think we're pretty, pretty killer. So I think knowing that there's something bigger than yourself, whatever that is for you, you know, I'm a Christian and so for me it's my relationship with God. You know, that's how I live better. And I'm not very good at it. But I guess that's what keeps me humble is like knowing that there's something much bigger than myself. And at the end of the day, you know, this is fun and we're helping people provide for their families and accomplish their goals and their dreams. But if we lose this deal today, there's going to be another deal, right? The only reason we got to get upset about that is if we got nothing left in the pipeline. But you know, it's putting things in perspective, I guess, and understanding there's a higher power than myself helps me keep things in perspective. So that's how I live better.
They don't know what's happening in the industry. Like this person who has 30 years of industry knowledge like, equip them to be in that room, equip them for that. And if all you're doing is training them on product knowledge, don't be surprised when that's what they talk about. And don't be surprised if that leader never takes a meeting with them again. You get delegated to who you sound like. And if you sound like an end user, you will only speak to end users.
You know, we've had multiple rappers get shot died in the past six to 12 months due to just beef. That's not helping the hip hop community at all. I watch the jobin podcast like every single week. I'm gonna watch it after this. Like it's my thing that I go watch, right? And they chop it up in hip hop. And that's the thing right now. It's like where we don't need beef in the community and we have that in the sales community. So how can we accelerate and elevate if we're having beef amongst each other and not figuring out ways to collaborate and really elevate the sales world? You're going to go with the seller that gives you the best experience. That makes it easy for you to be like, oh yeah, I want to get this, not the person who overcomplicates it, doesn't know what they're doing. Fumbling over the next steps. You're like, okay, you don't know what you're going on here. So like, I don't want to buy your product or invest into you. So I think we could learn on experiences.
When you work with a world class salesperson, how does it feel? It's an experience. You enjoy it, you look forward to it, you feel good from it because the experience is there. You feel more confident in your decision. There's less fear. You got what you wanted. You unders like working with a great salesperson who gives you the experience. You're looking. That's where I think we all need to dive in. I love that that's where Morgan took the hip hop. Because if you can create an experience and a brand that speaks to your.
Listeners, as I'm talking about being a curator, it's taking that podcast and writing down what are the three things you got from it, right? And then tagging that person, tagging the company, and then now because you tagged that person, that CIO, other CIOs are going to be, oh, cool. Like, that was an interesting insight that they gained. And then now other people are going to start seeing that from you.
You got to be doing that email warmup. And you really need to make sure that you're doing it for three weeks on a different domain. So what you want to do first is pretend, protect your. Isolate your main company domain, make a commitment internally that nobody is ever going to start cold emailing out of it again.
Okay?
Make that rule and put that in writing. And if you're a founder, if you're CEO, CEO, whatever, do that today and just save the day.
It's for people who have had sustained success already in their current role. This is not for somebody who's brand new, you know, into business and into sales. It's for people who've got experience, who sustained success and they can't quite figure out what to do, where to do it, when to do it, who to do it with, all this kind of stuff. So I just walk you through my journey and my experience, and I talk through things in a lot of detail from when to do it, how to land on a. On a topic or a subject, how to select a partner and why. Selecting a partner in ventures is maybe a cheat code, how much to charge. I get into that. How to structure the engagement. Contractually, I get into all that kind of thing. How to create this inbound kind of funnel and flywheel, the blueprint, if you will, actually how I run my consulting business.
