Athletes should skip spicy foods, greasy fries, heavy desserts like cheesecake, high-fiber foods, and anything unfamiliar on game day. These can cause stomach trouble or urgent bathroom trips that wreck performance. Stick to what you know works.

This is a list of foods that you should not eat on game days. Now, these foods are on this list because they're mainly going to cause digestive issues, which you do not want to happen on game day for yourself. Number 1 is spicy foods. Any like super, super spicy food, hot sauce, hot wing type stuff, anything that has the potential to mess up your stomach, avoid that. Number 2 is greasy/fatty foods. So when you guys are on the road and there's only a diner available to eat at pregame, probably don't get the greasy fries and chicken strips. Number 3 is heavy desserts. This would be like cheesecakes, donuts, brownies. All of these are very high in fat. Again, fats aren't bad, desserts aren't bad. I just don't want this sitting in your gut during the game and affecting the way you're playing. Number 4 is high fiber foods. High fiber foods are really important for other days, but on game day, again, digestive issues. Number 5 is new food. You might have that new Indian place down the street that you want to go try, but you don't know how your body feels when you eat that food. So I would recommend doing it on a not game day before you ever do it on a game day.
