Dirty bulking—eating junk food to gain weight—makes you sluggish and adds fat instead of muscle. A clean bulk with protein, carbs, and fats from real food builds mass while keeping you athletic.

Athletes, do not dirty bulk. A dirty bulk is eating anything and everything you can. Cake, cookies, pizzas, burgers. I'm not saying those things are bad, but I'm saying that you shouldn't be eating all of those to gain weight. This is gonna result in you feeling sluggish, it's gonna decrease your performance, and it's gonna make you gain more fat than muscle, which isn't gonna help you either. If you are trying to put on weight to increase your performance, to allow you to play better on the court or the field, you gotta do a clean bulk. And this means eating the right amount of protein, carbs, and fats, and making sure that a lot of those foods are coming from clean food sources.
