How much protein do athletes actually need to be eating every single day? I've got the equation for you here, and then I'm going to be showing you some of my favorite protein sources to help you hit the protein goal that you have. So if you're looking for pounds, you're going to go between a range of 0.68 to 0.82. If you're a runner, probably more towards 0.68. If you're trying to put on muscle mass or maintain muscle mass, come to this range. Same thing over here. So you're going to take this number up here that you choose, so 0.82, and you're going to multiply it by your weight. This is in pounds, this is in kilograms, and it's going to give you the amount of protein you need to be having in grams every single day. So 170-pound person, so you go 0.82 times 170 equals 140 grams of protein. The reason why you need this, guys, it's going to help build and repair your muscle tissue, it's going to speed up your recovery, you're going to get lean muscle mass growth, it's going to help your immune system, it's going to improve your training, it's going to basically help you get bigger, faster, and stronger, which is what we all want as athletes, am I right? This is what 170 grams of protein looks like. So if I was an athlete who needed 140 grams, all you would have to do is take away one of these 30-ish options, and this would give you exactly how much protein you need to be having every single day. Take a screenshot of this, and when you're looking for high options, come back to it.
