Low-carb diet. Zero. Carbohydrates are the number one thing that your body is going to use in intense activity. We need to make sure we're getting carbs in. Counting macros. 6.5 or 7. Macros specifically, like knowing that you're getting enough carbs, fats, and protein is really important, especially because they have different roles in the body. However, actually tracking and counting them when you're a high school athlete is pretty unsustainable and tough, so I'm gonna give that a 6 or 7. Chick-fil-A before a game. If you get grilled options, I'm gonna give it a 6.5. I don't think that it's the worst thing in the world, 'cause sometimes it's inevitable that you're gonna have to eat out. But also there's probably gonna be better places, like finding some grilled chicken and rice somewhere that's going to be better for pregame meals than Chick-fil-A. Protein bars. Just in general, I'll give them a 5. I don't love them, I don't hate them. There can be a place for them. Sometimes they're yummy to have if you have the right one. Yeah, 5. I don't love when people try to get all of their protein from protein bars. You can have one a day, it's not gonna hurt you.
