Athletes, within 20 minutes after your workout, I need you to be eating a 3:1 post-workout snack. You've just worked out super hard. You're lifting, you're running, you're jumping, you're putting your body through it. And all of those gains that you are hoping to see will go down the drain if you do not give your body the fuel that it needs to recover and to rebuild itself. Your body needs two things after you work out. One, you gotta refill its energy tanks. And two, you've gotta give it what it needs to repair its muscles. You refill your energy tanks with carbohydrates. Those are the gas for your energy tanks. And then you repair your muscle with protein. Those These are the building blocks to be able to build your muscle back bigger and stronger. Post-workout, the snack needs to follow the 3:1 ratio, which means for every 3 grams of carbs that you eat, you want about 1 gram of protein. This is a perfect on-the-go 3:1 snack. We're going to start with a PB&J and an apple, which is ultimately going to give us the carbs that we need to refill our energy tanks. And then for the protein, we're going to use a Chomps Beef Stick. Chomps are super easy to throw in your bag before practice, and they're a great source of protein. And paired with the carbs, it's going to give your body everything that it needs for a post-workout snack.
