A basketball player dominated three quarters then collapsed in the fourth. His problem: he'd eaten only a small snack before the game. After switching to a strict pre-game nutrition protocol, his fourth-quarter performance matched his early dominance.

One of my basketball players was dialed in on his nutrition, on his training, and then season rolled around. I lived close by, so I went to watch one of his games. First, second, and third quarter, he crushed it. He was killing everybody. He was hitting his shots, hitting his foul shots, beating people off the dribble, lockdown defense. But then fourth quarter came and it was like he was a completely different athlete. He was shorting shots, he was missing his foul shots, he was getting beat off the dribble instead of beating other people off the dribble. And I was so confused because I had thought we were so dialed in on everything. And then I asked him like, dude, what did you eat before the game? Can you show me? And he says, well, I mean, I had lunch before and then I ate like something small right before the game, but other than that, not much. And that's when I realized that he needed a very strict protocol to follow every single game day to get consistent results in the game. And so I created my Clutch Day Protocol. After he implemented it, he was killing the fourth quarter. He was very consistent. His fourth quarter play was just as killer as his first quarter play.
