A short daily podcast/video (Day 227) by Kenny Keller addressing a listener question about age limits for commercial pilots. Kenny clarifies that the commonly heard 60–65 retirement ages apply to airline pilots, not to helicopter or other commercial flying; people can continue flying commercially as long as they remain medically fit. He shares examples (a 67-year-old who passed his commercial and plans tours; instructors and EMS pilots flying into their 70s and 80s), praises community contributions (the “Hog wall” of member photos), and promotes HelicopterGround's private commercial/CFI/instrument courses with contact details and a call to action to subscribe and send photos.

Day 227, coffee with Kenny. Heather is putting together another one. You can see what she's got up on the wall so far. While she puts that together, I got to read a quick email reference. Our 67 year old that passed his commercial and starting his tour business. And I got an email from a guy who said, Kenny, Morning, dude. What are the age limits for commercial pilots? When, when does FAA say you're done as a commercial pilot? I've heard 60, then 65. I'm a late starter and doing the unthinkable by putting all the proverbial eggs in one basket to have something for retirement in the way of a small business need to hit the ground running to succeed. That 60 and 60, 65 thing you've heard about, that's an airline thing, that's not a helicopter pilot thing. You can work as a commercial pilot, you know, doing all kinds of other different things. So that 60 to 65, that's an airline thing you're wanting to do, helicopter pilot, you know, fly tours or, you know, heck, there's guys flying EMS into their 70s and there we are. Hogg's Wall is looking awesome. Heather's doing a friggin bang up job and this is so much better. We're so thrilled with it. If you're first to one of our videos, every single member that sends us a picture, passing their checkride or a big event, whatever it is, we put them up on the wall. So, so there's a quick video with a quick answer. The 60 to 65 thing, that's an airline thing. So just like this gentleman from the that asked about the guy that's 65 Rob that just got his commercial at 67, they're gonna start flying tours. There is no age limit on that as long as you can physically do it. And we know people are staying healthy longer. Longer. People are living longer and even the airlines keeps, keep talking about raising their age limit. So there are so many people, 50s, 60s, 70s, getting ratings and we've had a bunch of emails about instructors out there instructing in their 80s. So, so many awesome stories. It's just so for those of you, if you're still wanting to do this later in life, freaking do it. You know, the naysayers are always gonna go, ah, you're too old, blah, blah, blah. But you know what? Why not? Exactly. This industry, like every other industry, you're always gonna have whiners and naysayers and people say you can't do it. Well, that's all better. They got to do because they're unhappy with their lives and sit around and whine about, you know, whine about everything and tell you how you can't do something because they didn't go for their dreams. All right, day 227. Subscribe to the channel and click the bell. When you do that, will you be notified of the daily video?
