In this introductory video, Kris Martin shares his personal story and racing journey. He was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and received a cochlear implant at age eight. Growing up in a family of racers—his grandfather, uncle, and cousin—he developed a love for speed early on and told his parents he wanted to race. He began go‑karting at ten, later advancing to stock‑car racing. Kris secured a sponsorship from Phonak hearing systems, which provides a communication device that lets him stay in contact with his spotter during races, a crucial adaptation for his deafness. Beyond the track, he engages in public speaking, encouraging children to pursue their dreams regardless of obstacles, emphasizing perseverance and self‑belief. With 15 years of racing experience, Kris expresses an enduring passion for speed and a desire to keep racing as long as possible.
