Stop Panicking. Start Doubling Down On Hero Products.

Lara Guevara says brand owners should stop panic-buying inventory ahead of price increases. Instead, focus on a few high-margin hero products while cutting the rest, but only after getting finance and marketing to sign off on the numbers.
I was asking you about recommendations for bag owners and like just brands in general. So we had two, was there anything else that you wanna throw out there for like, you know, just like you think it's gonna provide a ton of value?
Yeah, yeah. So this is the harder one wherein your marketing, finance, and supply chain should be talking inside one room where what is the inventory that we can keep? Because overordering could be, something that a lot of brand owners are thinking right now, like, I will order more than the usual because I'm afraid what could happen.
It makes sense, right? Like, prices are gonna go up in 3 months, so I should stock up now. It's kind of like, that's what my alarm bells are ringing. It's like, why now? But you're saying don't do that?
No, I'm saying get the sign-off from your marketing and finance because that's the most logical thing to do. If you have the money, that should be signed off by your finance. If you have a support from your marketing, is this the product that you really need to overbuy? Like you have ABC products, not if you have 50 SKUs right now, at least 5 of that, the hero products, the biggest margin type of products, that's what you overorder. And the rest underorder or do not order at all. It's like now we don't have the chance to have a mistake of what product to PO. Yeah.
