Lara Guevara says founders scale backwards: they jump to execution (ads, shipping, 3PLs) before fixing margins, operations, and vendor relationships. Do margins first, then operations, then vendors, then execution. Each layer multiplies the next.
Most founders are building their supply chain in the wrong order, and it's silently killing their growth. They start with execution. Let's hire a 3PL, let's scale ADS, let's ship faster. But then vendors fail. Ops break, margin disappear and everything collapses again in the move flywheel. There is a reason the order is margins, operations, vendors and execution margins. FE fund ops. OPS enables vendors, then vendors support execution. Execution feeds back into stronger margins. Each layer multiplies the next, but only if built in this order. Execution is the final exam, not the first chapter. Tomorrow, how to build margins before you sell a single unit.
