Building Catfish Boxes with Hannah Barron!

Casual vlog-style transcript of Hannah Barron describing a day of chores and outdoor activities: walking dogs, preparing breakfast, working on house projects, cutting lumber and building wooden "catfish boxes" to place in a river for catfish to spawn, exercising at the gym, and a planned noodling trip. The tone is informal, family-centered, and instructional/demonstrative for the woodworking and fishing activity.

I just want to run around inside. I know.
Good morning, Merle. Did you not leave sister outside? Good morning, Merle. Good morning. Good mornings. Good morning, y'. All. We're about to get something to eat because I'm starving, even though I just woke up about to walk the dogs. Then we're gonna get some stuff done around the house. Maybe put some fascia on or cut out some catfish boxes, get a workout in at the gym, and then head up to the river to catch some catfish tomorrow.
Yeah, boy.
So I'm gonna mix up some yogurt, protein powder, and put some granola on it.
Eyeball some of this junk.
What do you like about this concoction? It tastes like peanut butter.
Re. Eyeballing. That's a little. That's like three quarter scoop.
Already washed all these. Had a buddy that got E. Coli from unwashed blueberries. You want some?
I appreciate it. I'm good. Oh. See you enjoy that.
Hey, Nanny. Hey, Nanny. We've both lost our dog.
We've lost. Oh, no. Merle. You left me. No.
Oh, yeah.
Guess who he was sleeping with last night.
He's my new buddy. Nanny, this is Alex and Brendan. Hey, y'. All. Goodness. And you fought. Yeah, I got the. I got the goofy ears. Can I touch? Yeah. Feel it. Oh, my gosh. Hannah, come here. I can't hardly feel them. Hannah, how much yogurt do you want? Just however you finished yours. I want exactly the same way. Good luck. What's your favorite thing about Hannah about that? I'm her granddaughter, and she don't have a choice but to love me.
Ever since she was about this long. Oh, God.
She's kind of. Kind of takes you and wraps you around her finger. I just fell in love with her, that's all. Have I had this beforehand? I don't know. Oh, it's delicious. Hey, this is what I made that Reese cup thing out of when I melted the chocolate on top of it. Excuse me, y'. All. Hey, I do got another thing of it. Come on, Stove. We're just gonna leave them? These is my walking shoes. Manny said that they would take me anywhere.
A lady once told me, she said, hannah is not going to be a follower. She is going to. She's going to set trends. She's going to establish. Well, the thing is, it's because I didn't give a day. You. You. No, you didn't.
I don't even claim this pond. This is the dog's pond. Because every time we walk, they end up in it.
This pond's Been here since I was a little tiny. Whole time we've had it.
What are the pros and cons of living way out in the middle of nowhere? The only cons are you're not close to a Walmart and a gas station and all that stuff. But I'm alright with that. I grew up in the middle of nowhere so I'm used to it.
Long way from everything. The pros is everything. It's great out here. Nobody bothers you. Except nanny coming to make fun of me. All right. So daddy told me to bring the saw horses and his tape and he's gonna cut a tree down. We're gonna cut it up on the sawmill and then we're gonna make catfish boxes out of it.
Dishwash.
We got air conditioner and heat. That ain't roughing it. No, we ain't. We bougie. I told you. I'm a dad. Gum bougie. High class redneck.
Thank you, Goon. Thank you. That's what all of this stuff is planted for. This stuff is planted to build houses with and build catfish for.

Curl it a little bit. Yeah, curl it up.
All right. Back to you a little bit.
Unbelievable.

You gotta hold your mouth just right.
Now how we're gonna get out of this situation.
Oh, thank you. But then you'd have had to walk over all this stuff Again.
We about to cut out catfish boxes. They're not for catching catfish belly butt. They're for holding catfish. True. You got catfish. Get in them and lay their eggs. Yeah, you gotta catch them. We're just building them a place to get.
Man, your drill's nice.
My drills up.
Good job, hannah. Good job.
Awesome. You are.
Amazing, Hannah. Yeah. Thank you, daddy.
And then you just walk up here, stick your hand in there and you step over in it like that. Block it and you'll take a.
Stick and just ease it around in there. A little broom handle or something. And just to feel if he's in there. If he's in there.
Go down.
Running up in there.
We're taking this box to the river to put out and hopefully catch a catfish out of. Yeah, normally we do anywhere from 30 to 50. But we're just going to give you all an example of what how this works. From tree to catfish. Maybe from tree to catfish.
It is raining. It is coming a forever more gully washer out there. We about to mix up bit a little. Little megawatt.
It's going to work out.

We heading to the cabin on the river up there. Look how long the drive we got.
I don't remember what I was saying. Four hour drive. Oh, we got a four hour drive ahead of us. Starting off great. Yeah, we're taking Chaz and Dan Bailey noodling tomorrow. Pretty excited about that because we're gonna be wading in the river and I know Chaz is terrified.
All right. Bed of the world. You back on fishing.
You know the drill.
About too big for it. About too big.
All right. I'm tired from that. Time to go. Time to go.

My favorite thing about being here is being right on the water, cuz. I love the river and being on the water. Josie, that's fire. No, ma'. Am. All right, y', all, we're winding her down for tonight. Tomorrow we're going to take Chaz and Dan Bailey noodling, so y' all stay tuned for that episode. Thanks for hanging out with us today. Appreciate y'. All. I don't know if this fish.
