Yo, what's up? This is Cody McIntyre. We're here in LA. Let's, let's get the day going. Come on, cruise in.
We are in Los Angeles, California right now on a skate trip, hangout trip. Just got up, kind of getting around, trying to, trying to get our eyes open. About to go hit a gym, kind of do a little bit of lifting. Just nothing too crazy since we got a skate today, but just, just kind of hang out, get pump with the bros.
I usually don't train on skate days, but since we're out here in LA and we're trying to kind of get everything in, I'm just going to do like, probably like a little bit of chest press, like overhead, few pull ups. Just kind of like focus on, kind of compound things.
I grew up, like my younger. It's pretty fucked up. My younger brother actually got me into drinking and smoking, which that doesn't usually work that way, but we would just like drink Budweisers, like smoke cigarettes, man. I want to say I was either 26 or 27 and it was New Year's Day. We'd had like a gnarly New Year's Eve, you know, just out drinking, kind of celebrating. Same shit, man, as a. I walked out on my patio, I had sliding glass doors, get up, super hungover, go to Spark. My first Marlboro read of the day. I took a drag, I just feel like fucking shit. And I turn around and look, man, I see myself in the reflection and it's just like. It was kind of like that epiphany. I was like, what the fuck am I doing, dude? Like, this isn't sustainable. I'm like kind of getting in my late 20s. I want to keep skateboarding. Like, it kind of hit me, bro. Like, I don't know, not to get all emotional, but like, I just like, was like, dude, like, I look like, I feel like I'm hungover. Like, I gotta get my figured out. And so, dude, I seriously, I put the cigarette out right there. I was like, all right, I gotta stop this shit. My girlfriend at the time had like a Jillian Michaels dvd and I was like, oh, maybe I'll try that, you know. And so like, I did that shit for six weeks. And then I got my diet super on point. Like, I started seeing changes. And then, you know, after like the two and a half, three month mark, like, bro, I'd like kind of transformed compared to what I was. I wasn't like built. There was one time where we definitely would have been 100% arrested.
All Alex, I don't know. Are you familiar with like, Texas or like the highway system at all? How they work? Like, I know that all my exes live in Texas. Well, there you go. That's why you moved to Tennessee. So it's Nebraska Avenue, they're 35. Interstate 35 runs all the way from Mexico to Canada. It's like one of the main highways out there. And so up in Waco, Texas, for like a year, dude, they were building this massive overpass and all it had was just like, it was the bridge. And then you know how like the embankment starts, but there was no bridge. So it was just this massive, like you could ollie off of the highway into the bridge. Holy shit, dude. We would pass it and pass it, and I was like, man, fuck, I'm going to skate that. One of the days we were up in Waco was like, me and a bunch of, bunch of homies was like, dude, let's go skate it. So, dude, we had to park the car. We walked through like a cemetery to get there. You hop one of the main feeders for 35 and then you're anking like yelling all this stuff. We get the trick. I. I do like a nollie into it. Super awesome trick. It wound up being like a big, like all these Texas state troopers pull up, like, somebody had obviously called the cops, you know. It was epic. Dude. That was like one of the, like, probably top 10, like epic things I've done in skateboarding.
What's up? Cody. Nice to meet you, man. Call this being old.
Yeah, I just definitely didn't have to do this type of stuff whenever I was 21, but I don't know. That's what happens, you know, Julia is really good at it too. You can see, see, she's over there.
You can't say old woman. Warm up though. I can't say shh it anymore the rest of the day.
Julie was in the Olympics actually for skateboarding. Oh, I'm not buttering you up. I'm just from the old woman.
I do remember my very first kickflip, but I was in my driveway. One of my buddies was there. My mom was there, like standing outside, just hanging out. I've been trying to kick happening. I think like the first day I landed like seven and was so hyped. And then that's kind of like the first, like real memory of like landing something crazy where I was like, damn, this is sick. Good old kickflip with my mom's.
Oh, yeah. So wax so this right here? Yeah, it's the opposite of surf wax. It actually makes shit slippery. So it's kind of weird. Like if you look at the side of the ledges, you'll see they almost look like wet. That's just like the wax that's like melted on them over the months, years, whatever. It just kind of like it just makes it to where like your board will slide. You kind of put wax on like your trucks. Your tail like you can see all the wax on my trucks, like. But that's what skateboarders do. Relax.
I know this is going to sound so cheesy mentally, man. It's like that's the tough part. Like physically all this is like really, really tough on your joints, on your body and, and whatnot. But mentally it's just like you have a good day and you're like, it's, it's a double edged sword. It's like a blessing and a curse, you know, it's like you're your own worst critic. So you're going to try and perfect your craft as much as you can. But then it's like, like if you didn't have like the best skate day, you go home and you're like, damn, I suck. You just get all bummed out. The beauty and then, and the, the ugliness of being that hard on yourself, you know, it's kind of crazy, but I don't know, I guess that's what makes us love it and get to a certain level. Yeah. Yeah. Skateboarders are always chasing dragon.
Always something. I still haven't found it. Yeah.
Modern cars in modern times.
Where are we heading out to tonight? I think we're going strip club here in just a minute.
Yeah, so right now I think we're about to head out to the barracks here in just a minute. One of my team riders made it to the finals. I think Alex will fit right in with your boots and your Bozeman Montana hat. You got the look, bro. You got the look.
So in skateboarding, a game of skate is pretty much if you've ever played basketball and you played pig or horse where one shooter goes and shoots, you go to the same spot. It's, it's pretty much the same premise. A one skateboarder will execute a skateboard trick and then the following skateboarder has to do the same. You keep going until the first skateboarder that's setting until he loses or misses a trick and then it goes back to the other and just kind of alternates that way. And then obviously same thing as horse spells out the letter skate. So that's where we're going to right now. One of my team riders, Nick Holt, he made it to the finals. This is kind of like the world Championship of skate, I guess you'd call it. The barracks hosts it. So it's a pretty prestigious thing. Pretty big accomplishment to get there. So going to support him and hopefully he does well and we'll see. So.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
So my boy Nick, the dude in the Cosby spot sweater is going to be skating. There's four dudes. So there will be one round. One round. And then the winner. And then I think they'll do like a second place or some. So.
Here's our boy.
Flames along the trees spread to fall.
Yeah, Nick won that one. So he made it to the finals, bro. Like, that's a pretty big deal. I'm so pumped for you, dude. Killed it, dude. I always rocking to Texas.
It's good to see you. Yes, sir. I appreciate you, man. I appreciate you. Thank you.
Is that the campaign where he's signing the babies and shit? That movie is. Yeah. Never. Never signed a baby. I don't think. No. Sign some weird shit right now. We're about to leave the barracks. I think to fulfill Chico's last wish. He's just done everything today. We're going to hit up maybe an in and out or something. Be uber Californians. So. Yeah, this is like Chico's world tour, man. He's been knocking it out, shooting photos with everybody. So psyched for him. That's great. Yep. What? In and out? Yeah.
You got me a double double. Two double double is what you said. No, I just said two normal hamburgers. Oh, well, now you're getting two double doubles. I thought that's what you wanted. So my go to is two double doubles and a fry. I don't really eat like this. This. It's just we're here with Chico. It's like we got to cap off this. And then I think they'll do like a second place or some sort of Cali adventure for of course. So, yeah, gonna smash double, double, double, double animal style fry with. With a diet code with a Diet coke.
Three, two, one. Give me a second. Hold that up.
Sorry. Creeping by.
We're gonna do some chest and upper body and then we're gonna massage Cody's thigh. Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna get Chico to probably give me a little rub down, you know, just. Just, bro.
Dude, this is so sick. Yeah, Nick won that one. So he made it to the finals, bro. Like, that's a pretty big deal. I'm so pumped for you, dude. Killed it, Dude. Always rocking the Texas.
It's good to see you. Yes, sir. I appreciate you, man. I appreciate you. Thank you.

I think to fulfill Chico's last wish. He's just done everything today. We're gonna hit up maybe an In N Out or something. Be uber Californians. So. Yeah, this is like Chico's World Tour, man.
