Am I actually drinking post workout?
We'll do it at the very end. You don't have to actually drink it.
I mean, I don't care. I was just wondering.
Yeah, we just, like. That's how we end it. You know what I mean?
All right.
Because it's called the post workout.
Like that, huh? Like that.
What do you mean?
That's what you just did.
Yeah. Shake it up. Give a little swirl. Sometimes I get a little Sean Paul shake dot Dang up.
Every time I do post workout, a little that song comes in my head. I'm just like. That's the right. It's like the cpr, you know, like.
Staying alive, staying alive, staying alive.
When we do post workout. Shake that thing, miss. Kind of, kind of shake that thing. That's how, you know it's, you know, properly shaken up and ready to go.
Yeah.
Welcome back into the post workout. Today we have none other than first form athlete Hannah Jones.
Hannah Jones. Oh, my God, it's Hannah Jones. Great to see you. Great to have you on the show. Finally, one of my favorite first form athletes.
Oh, my gosh.
Super mom now. All the good stuff. It's crazy, crazy world out there for you now.
Like, Frey's napping right now.
Yeah. And just take it five on the job. It's a lot of clock. If I could do that, just take a quick five. Maybe just leave the little nap tent you got. Whatever you got for. Yeah, just leave it here.
I mean, if you can crawl in a little ball right now, we can see if you can fit in the packaging.
I could definitely get in there. What am I?
Just a little ball? Maybe get a small.
Can you pick me up?
No, get on the ground. Oh, okay. So this is what we do with Freya. If we need a mover, we just go like this a little bit.
Okay. Okay.
I think you'd fit.
Okay.
Right after this, it's your time.
What a start to the show. I can fit in the back of play, I guess. Put that on my resume. Let's talk about how you got. Because you're obviously an athlete. You're super fit. How did you get into fitness? Where did your origin start? With fitness, really?
I have been athletic and trying sports my whole life, and I was one of those kids that didn't really stick to one sport. I just played whatever. I have two older brothers. We're all a competitive family. And. And my oldest brother is really into football and I was probably five years old, running down the sidelines, still on his feet, catch blockers now beating the boys sometimes. Right. I'm so proud of it.
Yeah.
And that's kind of probably where it started. And then I wanted to do my own sports. I tried softball, soccer, basketball, everything. Once I got to middle school and high school, it was mainly just track and volleyball. I was running track, and I broke my leg in high school, actually.
Bad beats.
Snapped my fibula in half going over a hurdle. And then my high school sports were over. I was a sophomore in high school. And then I was like, what do I do? Because all I knew was school, homework, and sports. Sports.
Yep.
So I felt actually depressed. So then I joined a gym membership and got into bodybuilding, and I did three bodybuilding competitions by the time I was 18.
Damn.
Women's physique.
Damn. So you just. Jack, you just always been. You just been built different since day one.
Am I supposed to be looking at the camera?
You. Or you can. Yeah, you do whatever. Look at the camera, look at me. So what happened after that? That was it.
Oh. So then once I got into bodybuilding, I really wanted to eat more food. I didn't want to eat strict. So then I decided to try crossfix. I wanted, like, more intensity.
Yep.
Competition instead of just look at me type thing. So I got into CrossFit and started getting really competitive with that because I'm kind of the all or nothing mentality.
Okay, so how did you, like, actually become, like, a fitness influencer then? Because I know you, you know, obviously coach a lot of people on better health, fitness, stuff like that, and you have. I mean, you're just a very good. Following Instagram. If you don't follow Hannah Ray Jones on Instagram at Hanay Jones, it's one in, which is a weird thing, but whatever. Why do you have one in?
It's unique. When Instagram became a thing just like everybody else, I created an Instagram and posted my journey. But at the time, it was. You post four to seven times a day.
Yep. I remember those times we had to discuss with Jenna fail, too. Like, just.
Yes.
You just got to be in there. Just.
Yes. I got a job at a. A gym that I worked at or worked out at, and I was super stoked. I felt so legit. And I. I quit after one day. Let me tell you, the weirdos. I felt so creeped out. I'm like, I'm not doing this.
People that work there were, like, weird.
Both.
What kind of. Like, what kind of.
Was it just, like, hitting on me in very uncomfortable ways, the way I was looked at, I'm like, Nope, I cannot do it.
Yeah. I feel that we have very similar. Yeah, it happens to me all the time. I'm like, I'm not a piece of meat. This isn't. I'm not a deli case here. Like, I'm a real person. I have feel.
I said, I'm done. I had like $200 in my bank account. Lived with my dad at the time. I'm like, oh, I'm really doing great right now. What do I, what do I do? My uncle back in 2014 was like, Hannah, why don't you just post online, Help people online? I was like, that's the dumbest thing in the world. How am I, how am I gonna help people? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It wasn't even a thing yet. Online training.
Yeah.
I was like, that's so dumb. I. I literally remember posting a selfie with my certification. I was 19. Hey, guys, I'm personal trainer. Certified. If you want help, I'm happy to help. Just email me. I remember people reaching out. Like, you're just taking people's money. That's a scam. Like, how can you help people online? Well, look at everybody now.
Yeah.
Literally before, it was cool.
Get on.
Yup. So I do coin myself just with Jenna Fail as an og.
Yeah.
Online trainer.
Yeah.
Now we have to be called influencer.
Yeah, I know that's kind of a weird word. I don't know if there's a stigma between that.
There's a stigma. Is there? Because when I think of influencer, I think of chest. Chest day.
Yeah.
Shoulders.
Yeah.
Or like, yeah, look at my bicep day.
Okay, cool. So, yeah, so then you kind of like, obviously you have a daughter become super mom, and now you're just doing like fitness challenges with your daughter. I saw Style post a video. You had her on your shoulders doing walking lunges.
Okay. Well, what had happened?
You had her strapped in, holding 120 pound farmer picks, like, so that she gotta have a lot of confidence in you at this point. I mean, you just. You got her whipping on some bike, like hauling ass on the road. Yep. And she's like, ah, listen, don't even know life's in her in fucking danger.
Yeah. Like, oh, shit.
Wife doesn't stop. At least when I have a kid, my husband and I, we are like, where life is not stopping. She just comes with us and it's the greatest thing ever.
Yeah. How did, how did you, you know, get introduced to first form? Because I want to go through the story of like, how you got introduced and then obviously becoming an athlete.
Yeah, it was so weird. Looking back in 2012, 1415. Right. Was when Instagram was blowing up and how I found first form because I was in the Midwest, in Indiana at the time, so it's kind of like local people. And Jenna was one of the first people I followed, and I was like, this is so, so cool, seeing the community and the camaraderie. And when you're in sports in high school or college. Yeah, we all love the. The camaraderie and the team.
Right.
And that's what I saw. And I saw how fun it looked, and I just kept thinking, man, this is so different than other supplement companies that I see online. And so I applied for The Athlete Search 2015, and I was typical, like, well, I think I'm kind of, like, fit. I'm. I think I'm pretty, so maybe I'll get chosen. It's so embarrassing to say it, but I feel like it's so important to say that I did nothing. I realized, like, wow, you have to put a lot of actual work into, like, to actually move up in the company. You don't just, like, get lucky. So I decided to become a legionnaire. I, like, discovered what that was. And when I became a legionnaire, I'm like, okay, all right. I'm a legionnaire. I'm doing the training, all the work it takes, and maybe now I'll be able to become an athlete two and a half years later. Two and a half years. Okay. It takes time and hard work.
That's right.
I finally got announced.
Yeah. I want to paint this picture because it was funny, because Hannah, obviously super energetic, fun, like, happy attitude, smiley. Yep. So we're at Fall Fest, and she's. I don't know what the fuck you were wearing some kind of, like, Rambo T shirt.
It was a chunky T shirt. It was like, Halloween time. Okay.
Yeah, but I feel like you had, like, an inflatable on or something.
I had an inflatable, like, hammer.
Oh, that's right. It was like a guitar or something. But anyway, so we're all kind of on. Andy comes up and he's like, hey, I want to bring someone up. And, you know, he brings you up and announces you with the athlete, and this big old crybaby comes out and just cries.
All right.
We always do a sponsored segment, sponsored by First Form Energy, because it's the best energy drink in the history of Earth.
So our sponsor segment is. What is the weirdest shit in your dm, Dude?
This is weird. I'm about to say.
Yeah, let's do it. Mega weird. Let's get weird. Let's get weird.
Full on naked pictures of like.
Well, I would see the package, but then there'd be boobs.
Huh, Nice.
And like, hey, I'll fly you out for 10 grand, 20 grand, 30 grand. How much you want?
All right, so, Hannah, I always like to do a little segment at the end where we do a little man the arena. Get into my guest space. And I know you are the self proclaimed diet soda expert. You actually said it should be illegal to drink as much diet. So you're.
You really do your research.
You're like a criminal or some.
Yeah, you really do your research.
So, all right, so here's what we're going to do. We're going to do a little diet soda taste test.
Oh, man.
And there's going to be some other elements involved. All right.
I'm stressing, actually. I don't want to hurt him.
I need you to be alert. Shut that baby up. Shut up.
That's my child, you fucker.
All right, so because I trust Hannah Jones so much and she is the self proclaimed diet soda expert, I'm gonna put my life into her hands today. Obviously, you see I have a shock collar on. We brought it back out. I'm terrified. Again, I trust Hannah. I hope she can deal this. We have a plethora of diet sodas and regular sodas to trip her up. Because Brendan's such a nice guy and he also picked the most obscure diet sodas that are possible out there for us.
I don't know. I'm pretty up to date.
I'm a diet soda. Okay, that's good. Okay, I'm feeling good again, so I'm gonna hand. Hand us some diet sodas she's gonna drink. If she gets it wrong, she's gonna have to zap me. Can you live up to your. Live up to your. Okay.
First one.
Oh, geez.
That's Diet Orange Crush.
That's wrong. Hit him.
I'm scared.
Wait, how about next? Oh, next time if there's next.
Why did that go so hard? What level do you have? Yeah, no, let's take it at 4.
Wait, this is all right.
Oh, my God. Can you get this one right? I was really. That was a. I was so. That was a layup. The one I think you will. This is stressing me out. Don't get this then. This is a terrible idea. I thought you were gonna be like, here we go. You got it.
Die, Dr. Pepper.
Moving on. We got one. Here we go. Boom. This is an. Oh, man. That.
Am I allowed to smell it?
Hammered me. Yeah, you can smell it. She can smell it. You got this. Well, I said.
Yeah.
I don't want to get shocked anymore. The what?
Wait. Root beer? Diet root beer. No, wait. Hold on.
Stop.
I take it back.
Hold on. Stop.
Collaborate and listen.
Diet, not diet.
That's sugar. Root beer.
So you're thinking regular root beer.
Hold on, hold on. Help A out, Josh. Oh, no. But there's.
You got it. Just trust your instincts.
Yeah. Hold on.
Please get it right.
Is it diet A and W?
I think we'll take it. Yeah? Yes. Good. This is gonna be a tough one.
Ew.
It's one of those weird flavors.
I know.
I know what it is.
You know what it is?
It's Pepsi Zero with.
Is it mango or peach? Nope.
Zappin.
What is it?
That's peach. Hit zero.
What the heck?
You can't react next time, Hannah.
Come on. I'm gonna need you to get together. You're enjoying this too much now.
I'm not. I'm.
You're making me sweaty. You just hammered me. I'm. I'm gonna get hammered. Me.
Puking.
You got it. Think of something nice. Me.
Ew.
Oh, no. That's not a good sign.
That's definitely a Diet Pepsi of some sort of.
Nope. Hammer me. Hit him. Why did you crank it? Why did you.
Oh, is it sugar? Coca Cola?
Vanilla E. Why did you crank the. The level up?
I didn't.
Yeah, you did.
I'm getting sweaty.
Is this diet pepsi?
Yes. Diet pepsi.
The. Is that.
That's brendan.
That's that pepsi. Mango.
It is. No, you can't.
Diet pepsi.
Cherry.
See the stud? He's a stud.
Diet Mountain Dew. Berry Blast or something?
Nope. No, it's. It's him in the eyes. When you give him this last one, I want you to. It's a fanta mystery flavor. I know. Absolutely. It's zero sugar. That's diet. I've never even seen it before. He's. He likes to punish me for some reason. He likes to see me in pain.
Yep. No, no, no. Hey. No.
Well, this has been the post workout. Hannah, what is your favorite post workout?
I love Strawberry Natural.
The Strawberry Natural is low key. Like such a good one, people. It is a hidden gem.
Have it with water or milk. You mix it with milk, it tastes like strawberry milk. As a kid.
Yeah. Like. Yeah.
It's so good.
Delicious. Especially in the summer months. Let me get a little bit here.
Missed a little. Can I actually have some? Shake.
That thing.
That thing.
All right, on that note, we're going to shut this down. This has been the post work at the Hannah Jones. Thanks for coming on the show. Always a pleasure. You got to tell me what to do next, guys.
