Welcome to Vegas, baby. Oh, hell no. Awesome. I was lied to. We should start there.
What's going on, guys? It's Mike Kunahan. The better half of Mike and Mike. Obviously we're going overlanding. So we're going to fly into Vegas. We're going to rent these jeeps that are completely decked out for just that. We got a tent, we got a fridge. What we don't have is any cell phone service, Internet, running water, bathroom. We are roughing it for like four or five days. We're going to hit a couple spots in Nevada, couple spots in Arizona. Now we're going to Utah and then all the way back.
So what a lot of people don't get about protein management is that if you can get a handle on just that macro alone, you can experience. Sorry about that, guys.
What up, man?
Michael Trotter. What's up, man?
Not, not much, man. I'm a little busy right now, so can we make this quick?
Ah, come on. This will be worth your time, worth your while. I know we got a little bit out of your comfort zone. Last time you didn't really. Weren't really feeling the sharks. I want to make it up to you.
I'm gonna have to roll with. No. Last time we were on FaceTime like this, I ended up shark fishing in the ocean. I'm not into it. No, thank you, sir.
I got one word and I bet you it convinces you otherwise. Let's hear it, Vegas.
Okay, I got rules. We gotta get a sweet ride.
Already done.
Five star hotel.
How about a million star hotel?
They make those? Sure do. Say less. I'm on the way. Let's go.
Welcome to Vegas, baby. I thought you said we was getting a nice ride.
What do you mean this is a nice ride?
I was thinking something like Lambo Ferrari.
I mean it's a Jeep, but it's a tricked out jeep.
It's all.
All decked out, ready to go.
It's still dope though. I'm in. Let's go, Vegas, baby. Let's do it. I don't know if I've been more excited to see you in my life, man. You know what? I deserve this trip.
Hey, Mike, you want to come give me a hand here.
Bro? Why do you have so many gas cans? What do you mean?
You got to be prepared, bro.
Prepare for what? What are we about to get into life?
You never, you never know we're going to come.
You know, I don't want no parts of this, man. Whatever you about to do, I'm not about to be accomplice to any of this.
Gas cans.
Jeeps.
Middle of nowhere, hot as hell. Take me home. Take me home. Is this thing on? Is this thing on? Take me home. Hello. Take me home. You're committed now. This is I committed to the casino.
Oh, hell no.
Hell no.
Well, what if that one goes? Then what did you plan for that?
All right, well, tires changed. Let's get back on the road.
I was lied to. We should start there. This is not the strip we intended.
On getting here for sunset. We had a few mechanical issues.
Few detours.
We got here a little lost.
We got here a little.
People who knew what they were supposed to be doing didn't know what they were supposed to be doing. And that's what's scary about it. We gotta do this again. Apparently.
Oh, you.
And me FL.
On your ship.
All right, we're all packed up. Got everything cleaned up. Tents are all set up, squared away. We're gonna truck it all the way back about, I don't know, five, six hours away we came in, which you guys will be able to see. How treacherous is this stuff is? And we're down.
The other truck doesn't have a spare tire anymore, so you gotta play it super safe.
All right, here we go.
Sam.
That's the great outdoors for you. Sometimes she's a beaut, sometimes she ain't.
Hey, we got good food. Decent people make the best of it.
What I've learned about camping is that even the people who've done it before truly don't know what's about to happen next. Right? Like when we were driving to the spot last night, in my mind, I'm like, okay, we already got a flat tire on a road that was not as intense as this road. And now we're driving on a couple bad tires. What if his tires go out here in the middle of nowhere? No cell phone service. It's dark. People aren't expecting to hear from us for, like, four days. So they probably won't start looking for us for four days after that. What if we die out here, you know? And then it's like you want to go to the go to guy for reassurance. Then you realize nobody truly knows. Nobody truly knows. They may be excited and they may call it adventure. They don't really know. The crazy thing is, guys, this is only day two.
We're like half halfway through this trip.
We got two more days here.
I feel like we've been here for a week.
I don't even know what to say. Every Time we ask Lee. Hey, Lee, how far are we from where we got to be?
2 hours, 3 hours. Now just ask him again. He said 6 hours. 6 more hours on this trail. I don't know if you can see, but there's nothing out there.
All right, we're all fueled up. Spare fuel, food, snacks, water, maybe some beers. We're ready to go. We're going out to Whitmore Point, I believe. Supposed to be a really good lookout point out of the Grand Canyon. So hopefully we'll get there for sunset. Maybe hike into the Grand Canyon, take a little dip in the Colorado river, hike back up, go to sleep.
So we'll see.
Let's go.
Three, two, one.
Like, hey, we're here.
Psych.
22 more miles.
I've got nothing to do with the maps.
I got nothing to.
I'm just.
I'm riding the trail.
Looks good.
This has been a very interesting trip.
Just got out to this spot, and coming out here, I was like, man, I was. I don't know if this. This ride is worth it, but.
It was worth it. We got to where we thought was the destination. Destination. And it wasn't as bad of a drive as we've experienced, you know, on the other drives. Like, it was bad, but it wasn't terrible getting to that point. So we get there, and the views were beautiful. Like, I'm like, this was cool. This. This ride was worth the views. And then Lee comes over, and you can tell he's got something to say. And then he finally tells Dylan, like, hey, man, we got 22 more miles to go. And Dylan's like, well, tell Alex. Solely tells alex we got 22 more miles to go. And nobody acted like anything major happened. Why you asked. That's a good question. Because it's been like that all weekend.
This.
The fine. Ready?
Good. No, we're not.
Listen, we on. We on a. We're on a mountain again, or Grand Canyon, and we're on this path. Everybody's like, is it this way? Is it that way? The answer is always, I think so.
Don't look to your right. You're probably expecting me.
Ow.
To make fun of Mike, but that was a lot harder than I thought it was.
No joke down there, man. It is hot. It's hard doing.
See the red light.
All right.
We'Re good.
Yeah, we're good. So if you've been watching this long.
You know there's been a theme throughout the course of this entire trip.
22 miles is actually 44 miles. Yep.
Three hours is actually like six days.
Days.
Anything that can go wrong really will go wrong.
Catch me if you can.
In my mind, I'm.
