Real Life LERCH Teaches Tactical Training | Real World Tactical Tony Sentmanat

This is a transcript from a YouTube video covering a two-day "Urban Survival" event run by Tony Sentmanat of Real World Tactical. The event enrolls eight students for a 16-hour pistol and combatives course leading to a certificate and concealed-carry capability. The chunk describes introductions (including guests like Minka Fitzpatrick and Julian Marquez), detailed live-fire instruction (breathing, trigger control, shooting from standing/kneeling/prone/sitting), a scenario-based "gauntlet" (high-intensity, repeated tasks ending with shooting under fatigue), and first-day reflections—Julian reports improved shot groupings and confidence with a Glock 19.

What's going on guys? Tony Semenotte here and I am the director of Real World Tactical. I am also a first form athlete. Today we have a two day event called Urban Survival and we have eight students and I'm putting them through a pistol and combatives course where they will be getting a certificate at the end of 16 hours and they will be able to get that certificate and conceal carry. The goal here is to be more capable, human, to defend yourself and not have the victim mentality that nowadays a lot of, a lot of the people have. And we do that with firearms obviously, and not only firearms, but at the same time learn some form of self defense, whether it be muay Thai, jiu jitsu, grappling wrestling. Okay. And we're gonna be covering all these things in two days. Also we'll be covering knife disarms or more like knife defense. Okay. It's gonna be fun. It's a full day of shooting the first day and all I would say defensive tactics are mixed martial arts the second day. I hope you guys like it. Stay tuned.
We have a handful of people with us today. It's gonna be really, really.
To kick it off, lead off batter, we got Stacy Irvin coming down from Orlando. So kind of a close one. Natalie, she's kicking it in Miami as well, so I had to bring her along. Ivy is joining us all the way from California, Ashton coming in from Indiana, repping the Midwest as we, as you know, as we do here. Deanna Magro will be joining us and Julian Marquez, Kansas City. My Cuban Missile crisis brother is in the house. We are fortunate we have a couple special guests. So Minka Fitzpatrick from the Pittsburgh Steelers will be joining and as well as a few special guests. So stay tuned.
It's about time to go down. Dude. I have no idea what to expect, but fully prepared. Dude, I was born ready. This is my environment. Just chaos and just high elevated heart rates. That's where I live in.
I'm ready to crush it. It's gonna be a good day. Gonna blow some shit up. I'm gonna shoot some shit. It's gonna be fun.
Do you have much experience with guns?
A little bit.
Not sure. What do you.
Not afraid to pop a cap?
I don't know what we're doing today. I was told we're doing a concealed carry lesson. It did not look like what they're setting up for.
I thought it was paintball.
Not quite.
So we're gonna do some shooting. Okay. Nothing crazy. Easy. Stay in line. Quiet. That's it. That's what we do today. Like you're doing everywhere, you know, so nothing crazy.
We'll see.
All right, guys, go ahead and stand in front of a target. Go over there and stand in front of a target. Five ye. When I blow the whistle, you're going to draw your gun slowly. There's not going to be any fast stuff, just normal. Come out here. Taking a breath in and out. Slow, steady, squeeze. Slow, steady, squeeze. Bang. Gun goes off. Breathe in, breathe out. Hit natural respiratory pause. Slow, steady, squeeze. Slow, steady, squeeze.
Bang.
Okay, here we go. Stand by.
All right, guys, prime example. This is why I tell you, okay, she was hitting low. She was all over the place right here. A little bit of anticipation, a little bit of trigger control. She's worrying more about just squeezing the trigger, aiming. Not worrying about the gun going off and all this shit. Boom. She hits right here, right under the X. Okay? Don't get in your head. All the problems that you're going to have are going to be between when you start squeezing that trigger to the gun goes off. All right, now we're gonna go from standing to kneeling.
Alright?
Whenever you do position work, okay, you always pull the gun out first. And then the gun's gonna be pointed your threat. And then you go up, down, do whatever you gotta do.
Okay.
Good. Reholster, stand back up down to a kneeling position and then goes down to.
It was good. Learned a lot. I was pulling the trigger way too fast, so I'm excited to make the adjustment. Hit it every time.
How you feeling? So far I'm feeling educated. I'm learning a little bit more inch by inch on how to shoot the gun and get the right target. My groupings are getting better and better. Just the small little details that he talks about with controlling the trigger, breathing and controlling your anxiety or your anticipation has really like changed the entire grouping of my shot. So feeling pretty confident.
This is called the gauntlet. It is a scenario based training. We will have four bodies here and four bodies there. We will be going two at a time in teams of two. Okay?
Once those two people are done, the.
Next two will continue. Okay. This will not be easy. Remember, for some it might be, but I doubt it. Okay, Each gauntlet is around anywhere between five to 10 minutes worth of thing after thing after thing after thing after thing. And at the end of it all, you have to shoot and you have to hit the target while you're tired, while you're fucking hating life. Why you don't even want to look at a fucking gun. Okay? No matter what happens, no matter how long it takes you to finish, you don't quit.
Nice work.
Here it is. Good job.
There it is.
Good work.
Good.
All right, guys, we just got done with the first day of the course for Real World tactical, and we went in there, we got educated on firearms. We learned different positions from standing prone, kneeling, even sitting on your butt. I've never shot a firearm as deadly as a Glock 19 on my ass. Hitting targets, running sprints, getting our heart rate elevated. At the beginning of the course, I was a little nervous. I had a lot of anticipation of where the bullet's going to go, if I was going to perform well. And then by the end of the course, like, it didn't really matter. He was pushing our cardio, he was testing our will and protecting us and showing us what we need to do. If we ever had a home intruder, if we ever had some sort of interaction on the street and we have a firearm, it. It's actually incredible. It was super educational and I'm happy I'm here to do this. And now I'm that much better with a pistol. With a firearm, I could protect my family, I could protect my friends if ever need be. Even being an MMA fighter, last thing I want to do is be in a hand to hand combat, but I have that there. But now I have a range weapon protection now.
All right, guys, so it ends the day. It's almost night time. We had a phenomenal day with all the students. Everybody did a phenomenal job. I don't have any knuckleheads, which is a good thing. Everybody learned they got better, nobody quit, which is very important because at the end of the day, if you don't have the mindset for this kind of type of stuff, then it doesn't matter how good you are with the gun, doesn't matter how good you are fighting it. If at the end of the day, if you don't have the mindset for this, you're worthless, right? So, you know, looking forward to tomorrow. Tomorrow's gonna be another day. It's gonna be all in my gym and we're gonna be doing some physical stuff, groundwork, jiu jitsu, grappling, striking and all that. So it's gonna be fun. It's gonna be, it's gonna be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to it. And at the end of the day, you know what, like I've always said, make your mind unbreakable so that your body becomes unstoppable.
