My name is Marissa. I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I'm 26 years old. I was born with half an arm, so like, my arm ends right below my elbow. I've been in sports ever since I was like six years old, from competitive diving, soccer, track and field. When I turned about 12, 13 years old, I had an eating disorder and I just kind of like stopped playing all sports altogether. And then when I turned 16 years old, I. I got my first prosthetic hand, which basically allowed me to lift weights and do all that stuff. So that's when I kind of started getting into the gym and working out and stuff. And then when I turned 17, I was like, I want to make it a goal to step on stage and compete. What really helps me stay focused is you made the decision to do something hard in the first place. That end goal is there. So, like, why would you not go all in with achieving that?
