Short lyrical monologue performed by TJ LaFaver (YouTube short). The speaker uses surreal imagery ("floating on stars", "eating ramen") and autobiographical details—selling "nickels and dimes in the Carolina," living in the projects with family—to convey themes of hustling, poverty, family, and mortality. Tone is confessional and streetwise; the piece reads like a brief rap/poem without formal structure.

Not Scratch that I'm floating on stars and eating some ramen I'm not from this world I got houses on comments Hallway ain't learn how they gotta learn the hard way I get the nine up in my mama curve was selling nickels and dimes in the Carolina pins I had the juice on my mind thought I was out of miss I kept some in line they knew what time it is I can never go back to the times when I was back because they trying to get out the back of the projects where my auntie live up in the trapping apartment because it's back and recline Cause I'm in the back of my mind and it was a matter of time before I died.
