The founder of Patriot Relief explains why focusing on one group beats trying to help everyone. I will say that running Patriot Relief, it's very tempting to do everything for everybody, but then I can't serve really well. And one of my most amazing partners in this process is my friend Austin Lineberry. He's a builder in Atlanta, Georgia, and he is a luxury builder. Austin told me one time that a spiritual mentor of his reminded him, "Do for one what you wish you could do for all." Isn't that great advice for our nonprofit worlds, for our real estate businesses, for our children? Do for one what you wish you could do for all. Maybe if we weren't spread so thin, we could do a better job for everybody. But I'll just remind you, that's also how you get funds coming in for your organization, is to know who you serve, why you serve them, and being really laser-focused on that. And I should probably tell y'all that Western North Carolina is still in need of your love and help. And if you happen to be a North Carolina REALTOR® on here today, I'm gonna give you a treat. A something you can put into your newsletter or into your phone calls. And the treat is that the state has finally made available the federal HUD money for repair and replace houses. That link is RenewNC.org. I think you ought to get on the phone if you are a North Carolina REALTOR® and tell your people the money's available. Get on there and apply for it. That's RenewNC.org.
