You have options when choosing a real estate agent, but don't just hire your brother-in-law or a church friend without interviewing. Ask detailed questions, compare what different agents offer, and remember you're responsible for who you pick.

The beauty of real estate is there are so many options across the spectrum, and they really do have one of everybody. And if you don't like the one in front of you, I promise you, all you have to do is go on Facebook and say, "I'm looking for an agent." You'll have options out the wazoo, but you're going to have to do some interviewing and find out what you're getting for your money. I just don't know that really the consumer has embraced their role in this of ask more questions and interview more agents. I have talked to a lot of people who don't interview agents. They just go with the brother-in-law option or the friend from church. That's fine. But if you're not gonna interview, you're on the hook for who you picked.
