In this video, a REALTOR®-affiliated speaker shares a personal connection to Hawaii, recalling a honeymoon trip to Maui and Kauai, and reflects on the devastating wildfires that have ravaged Lahaina. The speaker explains the origins of the Realtor Relief Foundation (RRF), created after the 9/11 attacks to mobilize real‑estate professionals in disaster response, and emphasizes that 100 % of donations go directly to affected neighbors. A clear call‑to‑action is given: viewers can text the short code 41444 with the keyword “RRF” to donate, and they are encouraged to share the appeal with clients, buyers, and sellers. The message blends personal storytelling, factual information about the foundation, and an urgent, persuasive appeal to support Hawaii’s recovery.

I spent half my day driving today heading towards the North Carolina mountains, and along the way I'm looking at all the green, I'm looking at the mountains, and then I'm looking at these clouds that look a lot like plumes of smoke. And meanwhile, I'm listening to the news on the radio about the wildfires that are devastating Maui and especially the cultural center of Lahaina. And I don't know about y'all, but I have a place in my heart for Hawaii, not just because North Carolina has a lot in common with our island state, But because that's where my husband and I spent our honeymoon 20 years ago next month, and we went to Maui and to Kauai to experience the peace and the beauty and frankly just the magic of the Hawaiian Islands. And we were so fortunate to see that 150-year-old tree and ask ourselves if we could make it that long. And we're at 20 years, but nowhere close to the magic of the tree, which hopefully the roots are deep enough that it will survive. But there's so much else that is devastated right now. And if you're like me and you hold a little magic of Hawaii in your heart because either you've been there or you know people from there or it's just one of your dream places to go, first of all, you still gotta go. And second of all, we gotta help. That's one of the beauties of the Realtor Relief Foundation because if you did not know, it was started 22 years ago after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 for events like this one. When there's disaster that strikes, the Realtors are the first ones that come in to bring help. And 100% of the dollars you donate go to our neighbors in need. That's one of the most important things we can do is give somebody a little bit of a bridge until everything else starts to come back together. And when you're in a place like I am where there's beauty but it's not devastated, you want to pitch in so that you can help from wherever you are. So right now, if you text the code 41444, text the word RRF, Realtor Relief Foundation, you'll get a link back where you can donate. And by the way, you can also share this with your clients, with your buyers and sellers in your sphere, because many of us have seen this on the news and our human hearts just want to help. So let's pitch in, let's help Hawaii in their time of need, because think of all we've received from them in the way of beauty. Let's help restore that as quickly as possible. It's one of the things that makes me so proud to be a REALTOR® and nothing is better than when we respond with action. So again, you can text 41444 and use the keyword RRF. You'll be glad you did, and Hawaii, we stand with you all the way from North Carolina.
