In this motivational monologue, the speaker—who is also a candidate for North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District— critiques the National Association of Realtors’ slow, behind‑the‑scenes handling of recent class‑action lawsuits that threaten the profession. He argues that REALTORS® cannot wait for a top‑down “full‑court press” and must instead tell their own on‑the‑ground stories: how they help buyers and sellers, the extra work they do against for‑sale‑by‑owner situations, and the value they bring to their communities. By sharing these narratives, agents can shape public perception, counter misleading headlines, and protect the industry’s reputation. The speaker frames this grassroots storytelling as both a professional duty and a political rallying cry, urging fellow REALTORS® to join him in a collective, bottom‑up effort to defend the profession and influence policy.

You might be asking yourself, where is that full-court press from the National Association of Realtors when you look at this changing landscape around class action lawsuits and organized real estate? And frankly, everything looks like a hot mess. Well, the reality is the National Association is working with a bunch of trial lawyers and appellate lawyers, and they've got to get the case all together for the appeal, which to you and me as professional real estate people looks fairly cut and dried, but it's not cut and dried as evidenced by the jury's decision a couple couple of weeks ago. But the bigger question is, why are we waiting on a full-court press from the National Association? Now, I've been frustrated too, I'm not gonna lie about it. However, sometimes you can't just wait on somebody else to do it. You can't just look at the big organizations and say, fix it. We, the individuals who are involved, have to put on our own full-court press. So what I want to challenge you to do is to tell the story of how you conduct your small business wherever you are. If you are conducting real estate right here in Concord where I am, 28025. Maybe find somebody who used you as their professional real estate consultant and have them help tell the story of how helpful you were. Maybe you want to tell about the situation that you've been in where you were representing someone against a for sale by owner and you had to basically carry two workloads for the compensation of one. There are so many things that the public doesn't know about because the stories have yet to be told. That is the full-court press that needs to happen. Look, y'all, if your buyers and sellers in your neighborhood are paying any attention to the news, the reality is they're probably only looking at a headline because people just don't read the whole article anymore. And the truth is usually buried way down at the bottom in the last paragraph. Knowing that people aren't paying attention to the news, they're probably paying attention to you. And especially at this time of year, when people are hanging out with their family, and frankly, they might rather scroll than have another conversation with Uncle Bob. And so why don't you be that person who provides that conversation and says, look, Real estate looks different right here on the ground than it does in some class action courtroom out in Missouri, where frankly you have a bunch of bloodsucking, money-grubbing class action lawyers that want to destroy the 5th largest piece of America's GDP by destroying the REALTOR®. It's kind of crazy when you think about it. So if it's crazy, we know that the association's going to have to go through its own stuff. So in the meantime, how about we as dues-paying members in good standing, why don't we start telling the story ourselves in a productive and wonderful way. Because if there's anything you're good at as REALTORS®, you are great at storytelling. You're great at helping people understand the bigger picture of what's happening in the market and how it's applicable to them. So why am I telling you this? Well, you're going to see that I'm a candidate for North Carolina's 8th Congressional District. I can't just sit back and say, "They need to do things better in DC," if I'm not willing to tell a different story and be a part of that solution myself. If there's going to be a full-court press, it may as well start with me. And the last time I checked, there is no more persistent, diligent person on the planet than somebody who survived in real estate. So why don't you join me in this quest? Tell your story to the people who need to hear it so that we can do good things for everybody in this great country of ours. That's today's motivator. Now, what are you going to do with it?
