Most agents enter real estate for personal connection, but large brokerages can erode that. Some firms fight back with small pods and dedicated text threads to keep agents feeling known and supported within a massive organization.

In real estate, there's a desperate need for connection. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's why some REALTORS® get into this, 'cause they want to build that connection with buyers and sellers. And maybe it's to replace something at home, and maybe it's just because they really, really want to build their circle of people up. And that personal connection is amazing. It allows us to serve better in that practice of day-to-day real estate. However, when you get into a brokerage, it is gigantic. Is there a way to still build that connection with your peers in that firm? Some firms have built that up. They have tiny pods inside the firm, and they have text threads, and there's people that connect. So the size may still allow for smaller groups, but sometimes that size just creates more disconnection. And if you're the person who needs to have somebody know your name and check in on you, the size could absolutely matter.
