A real estate agent who's relocated can rebuild fast by leaning on soft skills like listening and reading clients, not local knowledge. Neighborhood details, zoning, and schools are learnable; the foundation that matters is already yours.

How do you reboot your real estate business when you've moved by an hour or a state or a whole country? I mean, it sounds hard to change areas when you're in a people business. But let me remind you of something. Real estate is more about the soft skills than the hard skills. And when I talk about the soft skills, I'm talking about the sales acumen that you have. Those of you who know how to read somebody, how to react, how to respond, how to listen really well, how to ask great questions. How to guide somebody in the decision-making path and help them say yes or no. The hard skills are the geography, the neighborhoods, the builders, the permitting, the zoning, the politicians, the schools. You can learn the things pretty quickly, as long as you have the acumen for connecting to people. So now that you're realizing, "Okay, I still got the skills. I know how to do this. I know how to do real estate. Now I just have to put the pieces in place where I am."
