Can you take an entire 24-hour day off in real estate if you are a solo agent without a team? Yes, you can. Here's the steps to making it happen. The first one is pick the day. Doesn't have to be the same day every week. It does not have to be a weekend day. In fact, if you're smart, look at your schedule for the last several months and figure out traditionally which day is the lowest amount of activity, and that way you can set yourself up for a little more success. The second step is this: alert people that you're going to take the day off. That means tell your clients, I'm going to be off on Tuesday this week without a telephone, so if you need something, call me by Monday or save it for Wednesday morning or leave me message and I'll get back to it as quick as I can. Alerting people makes it possible. The third thing is you need a backup person who can help you in the event that your clients have an emergency. It doesn't mean you have to have a team. It does mean you need to have a colleague you trust. And in real estate, the best thing about this business is that people think we're all cutthroat, but some of my best friends are my competitors. I love these people and I know that if I'm taking a day off, they will absolutely cover for me and take great care of the people who have entrusted me with real estate.
