Leigh Thomas Brown tells real-estate agents to stop pushing off-MLS private listings. He asks: would you keep your own home off the MLS? No. So don't pressure sellers into it either. List openly, get the highest price in the shortest time.

Even if an agent isn't following along with all the industry drama like you and I do, I do this intentionally because you've seen me speak. I'm not shy. I go, I ask people in the room, how many of you in the room here as agents would actually list your own home and keep it in a private status where you're not showing it on the MLS to consumers? And don't lie to me, raise your hands if you would do that. And nobody ever raises their hand, by the way, because they all know that, that they want to sell their house for the highest price possible in the cheapest amount of time. And so I go, if you wouldn't do it to yourself, then stop pushing this shit. To other sellers. Like, it's called your fiduciary duty. Like, if you don't believe in the own messaging that your company is telling you to do and you wouldn't do it yourself, then why would you do that for somebody else? You don't need to be educated on all the drama in the industry to know what's right and wrong.
