We've Rebranded! Say Hello to Real Talk with Leigh Brown

Leigh Brown relaunches her real estate podcast as Real Talk, dropping the old name for something more professional while keeping the unfiltered stories. She's broadcasting from a restored 1950s Betty Feaser kitchen at her office in Concord, North Carolina, and wants to hear your worst deals.

Hey, friends. Welcome to the very first episode of Real Talk with Leigh Thomas Brown. Now, if you're new here, well, then bless your heart. Go ahead and buckle up. But if you've been with me since the days of Crazy Shit in Real Estate, you might be thinking, Leigh Thomas Brown, what happened to the crazy? And this isn't new. Well, you know, it's still here. Trust me, the stories are still wild and unfiltered. And the ridiculous things people say and do in this business. Well, honey, those haven't gone anywhere. And neither have I. We've just cleaned up the name a little bit because apparently shit is frowned upon in some corporate boardrooms. And I've got some big plans ahead with guests and sponsors and a whole new stage to bring y'all the real deal real estate stories you actually want to hear. So welcome to the same girl, same grit, same guts and goodness, but with a name your broker and your mamaw can actually say out loud. This is Real Talk with Leigh Brown. Now, speaking of new beginnings, I'm recording this in a place that's incredibly special to —my brand new podcast studio, which, brace yourself, is a replica of the kitchen from Betty Feaser. Yes, the Betty Feaser. And it's not even a replica—it's her kitchen. If you're from North Carolina, especially around Charlotte, you might already be nodding your head. And if not, let me take a minute to tell you why this kitchen matters. It's more than wallpaper and countertops, y'all. This is legacy. Betty Feaser was the original domestic goddess of North Carolina TV. Back in 1953, WBTV gave her a daily show with homemaking tips, and she was magnetic. Her style just drew you in, and everybody loved her no matter who you were. She taught people how to do real life better, and when she passed in 1978, we all grieved as though we'd lost an actual family member. Well, now Betty's Kitchen has been resurrected inside my office right here in Concord, North Carolina, at One Community Real Estate. And yes, it's open to the public because I want her legacy to carry on through all of us. So you're absolutely welcome to give us a call and come by and visit and see it yourself. Now don't worry, this ain't a cooking show unless you count cooking up deals under pressure with a side of what the heck just happened. Real estate isn't all pretty kitchens and curated open houses. It's weird, it's wild, and it is sometimes straight up messy. And that's what we talk about here on Real Talk, the stories you won't ever hear on HGTV. The moments they forget about in CE class, because this is the stuff that makes you laugh, shake your head, or maybe just feel seen for the first time. But let's be real, the business isn't just chaos, it's calling. You've got to be sharp, ethical, and strong enough to adapt and show up when the deals fall through or the market gets wonky. That's why I bring on guests who have lived it, people who face the fire and still love this profession. You'll hear stories about clients who ghosted, listings that went viral for all the wrong reasons, and deals that somehow closed even when the odds were completely stacked against them. You'll also hear tips, strategies, and takeaways you can actually use. Whether you're a new agent, a team leader, or someone who just loves the behind-the-scenes real estate drama, I've got something here for you. So here's what I need from you. First, subscribe. Wherever you're listening— Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, maybe you still got a Stitcher account— smash that follow button so you never miss a beat. Second, leave a review. 5 stars. And yes, I need the 5 stars, because if you write a sentence that says, Leigh's awesome, or this is the best podcast out there, or I love her accent, those reviews help people find this show. And we all know that in all the noise, people need good real content. And third, if you have a story that belongs on this show, the one that you love telling, message me. I would love to showcase you, your story, and your market because I love the real guests who like telling what really happens in real estate. Because there's a reason you are loved as a profession and very valuable to your clients. Let's tell those real stories. I'm just so glad you're here, whether you've been with me from the beginning on Crazy Shit in Real Estate, or you just found me, hey, welcome to the community, because we're going to keep learning, laughing, and lifting each other up in the wild world of real estate. So until next time, you stay smart, you stay scrappy, and you better remember, real estate isn't always pretty, but it's never boring.
