In this YouTube update, a Patriot Relief representative shares a recent success story from Avery County, Western North Carolina, where a homeowner whose uninsured tiny house was destroyed by Hurricane Helene received approval for a full house replacement through the state‑run RenewNC program. The speaker explains the four ways RenewNC can assist single‑family homeowners—full stick‑built house replacement for damage over $50,000, mobile‑home replacement, reimbursement for repairs already completed, and repair services for damage under $50,000. He urges eligible residents to apply via renewnc.org, asks viewers to spread the word, and invites donations to Patriot Relief, emphasizing the organization’s 501(c)(3) status, low overhead, and proper accounting. The message stresses keeping families in Western North Carolina, avoiding displacement, and the collective effort of the community, donors, and the charity to make affected households whole.

It's a wonderful afternoon in North Carolina, and I'm sitting on my screen porch doing some work, and you know what happens? I got a text from an Avery County homeowner up in western North Carolina. Now, if you are not from North Carolina, you should know Avery County is one of the hardest hit areas because of Hurricane Helene. You've got the Toe River up there, which came out of its banks and destroyed Minneapolis. Newland just got hammered. Banner Elk, where y'all can still come spend your winters because a lot of the vacation homes are back up and running. But Avery County took it in the chin, and it's a small rural county. And y'all know that is where Patriot Relief has been spending a lot of time, along with all the other counties. But Avery's just kind of special to me. But what you should know is, is Avery County homeowner sent me a text. This is a homeowner for whom Patriot Relief replaced a tiny house for their daughter. They're a generational family. There's 3 generations living on the same property. You, my donors for Patriot Relief, you replaced a house that didn't have insurance, and so it wasn't qualified for any assistance from anywhere else. But in addition, the parents and their single wide were in a property that was moldy. The doorknob was gone. I mean, the hurricane just messed it up bad. But like any other parent, they were more concerned about their daughter getting made whole than they were about themselves. Well, they applied for the money available from RenewNC.org. That's the North Carolina program that is being run by the Department of Commerce with the HUD money. So this is your tax dollars at work, y'all, because you know the government does not create dollars, they take your dollars from you. But I'm okay with my tax dollars being used correctly. This is that use. So this homeowner applied for the help through RenewNC.org. And just got approval today. Their house is being replaced. You hear me? Replaced. They are going to be made whole after Hurricane Helene. And this delightful woman who is my sister in Christ, we cried together, we hugged together, we're family because that's what we do. So what I want you to know is that if you have any friends or family in Western North Carolina, or if you happen to be watching this and you're in Western North Carolina, If you experienced single-family housing trouble because of Hurricane Helene, that could mean damage, that could mean destroyed houses. If your single-family home got Helene damage, you may be eligible for help from RenewNC.org. Now it's income limited, so if you had a fancy second home, it's probably not for you, but if you are a regular working person, a senior citizen, this is where you can get help. Now here's the 4 ways RenewNC.org can help through the state of North Carolina. This is our state program. Number 1, your house, like my lady here, might be replaced. That's if the damage is more than $50,000 worth of work, the house might be replaced with a stick-built house. And by the way, there's 12 floor plans, and so our neighbors have some agency here in picking out the replacement house. If you had a mobile home, that could be replaced, single wide or double wide. So they will replace a mobile home. Number 3, you could be eligible for a reimbursement. You hear me? Of the repairs you've already done on your house. And so that's huge for all of my people out there who have wiped out their retirement savings and raided the kids' college fund or just begged, borrowed, and stole from Peter and Paul to get it done, you might be eligible for reimbursement. And we can also do repairs. And so if your house had less than $50,000 in damage, the repairs can be done. So what I've got to tell y'all is that we have the money. We at Patriot Relief are partnered with the state trying to find the people. So if you can help me share this video, tell a friend, just tell them to apply. Not everybody's going to be qualified. That's just how programs work. Y'all know how it goes as well as anybody. We at Patriot Relief, through your donations, are also saying yes to some of the scenarios that don't fall under the HUD guidelines through North Carolina. We're helping as many people as we can. And by the way, this is for single-family homeowners. And so the purpose of this program is to make sure that those who are from Western North Carolina do not have to leave. You do not have to move to some foreign city or some county where your people are not. We want you to stay at home. So call me, call Patriot Relief, go to renewnc.org, and then you can send me a little happy text too, and I will cry and pray with you just like I did with my girlfriend here. Because once we start working together, you will find out that the North Carolinians out there, we stick together. We are not going to stop until everybody's had a chance to be made whole. We have not even been to a year after Hurricane Helene. That anniversary is coming up one month away. And in the meantime, let's get as many people helped as we can because y'all, winter is coming and I want to make sure that anybody impacted has a chance to be helped. So please share this, send people to renewnc.org, and if you have the ability to drop a little donation to Patriot Relief, we are a 501 and all donations are tax deductible to allowed by law, and we would love to be able to use your dollars to help our neighbors in need. Our first 990 has been filed, by the way, so all of your donations have been properly accounted for, and we are a high-level charity because we didn't spend that on overhead. We spend it on the people, which is how these programs have to run. So please help me help our neighbors in Western North Carolina. Let's get the word out so we can get some more houses replaced and make our neighbors whole. And thank you. I'll see you around.
