Binance reached a $400 billion valuation in five years. The leadership team coordinated across time zones with daily meetings to manage rapid growth and avoid the bottlenecks of traditional organizational structures.
Scale of Binance is pretty mind boggling. They went within five years to at a peak valuation of like 400 billion with 2000 employees. You can't do this by having a traditional org structure. The founder and CEO at one point had like 55 direct reports and that leads to like an extreme level of decision making and execution. So the leadership team met every day because the leadership team was spread across the world. We met at like 11 p.m. when I was in Singapore. That includes the weekends, holidays, which meant that none of the decisions were blocked for more than 24 hours.
